In their own words
Cube
Cube is an FP&A platform for finance teams planning, forecasting, and reporting with governed business data. It connects business data into a governed layer and syncs it with tools finance teams already use. Its planning and analysis features include budgeting, forecasting, scenario modeling, root-cause variance analysis, natural-language queries, forecast-versus-actual review, and drill-down to general ledger transactions. Listed connections include NetSuite, Salesforce, Workday, Sage Intacct, Snowflake, ADP, QuickBooks, and HubSpot; Cube says it can build custom connections to nearly any system or flat file. Teams can work through Excel, Google Sheets, PowerPoint, Google Slides, Slack, and Teams. The Cube MCP Server connects decision-ready data to Claude, ChatGPT, and Copilot, and MCP is included in every tier. Cube states that it is SOC 2 Type II certified and HIPAA compliant, with data encrypted in transit and at rest on AWS. Role-based access applies across the app, connected spreadsheets, and reports; queries, answers, publishes, and denied actions are logged. Pricing is on request.
Wave
Wave's invoicing software helps businesses create and send invoices, receive payments, and manage customer information. Invoice templates can be customized with a logo and brand colors using drag-and-drop editing. It supports recurring invoices and automatic credit card payments for repeat customers. Customers can pay by credit card, bank payment (ACH/EFT), or Apple Pay, and invoice and payment information connects to Wave's accounting feature. The free Starter plan costs nothing and includes unlimited estimates, invoices, bills, and bookkeeping records; online payments have transaction fees. Pro costs $19 a month and adds automatic bank transaction import, transaction merging and categorization, receipt capture, expense tracking, and late-payment reminders. Wave lists integrations including Amazon, eBay, Capsule, and Etsy, with workflows through Make. Connecting or maintaining Partner integrations and Make requires Pro or a Wave Advisors bookkeeping subscription; third-party API connections also require an active Pro or Wave Advisors package. Wave says it is not HIPAA-compliant and does not support healthcare-related businesses.
