In their own words
Curia
Curia is a web-based legal research workspace for Canadian lawyers, paralegals, law clerks, and legal teams. It searches case law from nine provinces and federal authorities; Quebec and the territories are not supported. Within a matter, users can keep documents, research, timeline events, drafts, and tasks together. Curia can prepare first-pass factums, memos, and letters with linked sources, then export them to Word or PDF. Uploaded documents can inform a matter analysis, with issues extracted, dates added to timelines, and contradictions flagged for review. The citation checker checks citation format and decision metadata matches, but not pinpoint accuracy, proposition support, good-law status, or research completeness. The free plan includes five credits without a credit card. Paid plans begin with Starter at C$39 a month, billed in CAD and cancellable anytime. Credit use varies: document chat answers cost 0.25 credits, most research and drafting actions cost 1, matter analysis costs 3, and settlement proposals cost 5. Curia says data and uploads are stored on servers in Canada and are not used to train models.
IURIX
IURIX is a web-based legal research service for Austrian and European law. Its RICI tool searches official legal sources and returns answers linked to sources, using keyword, semantic, and hybrid search across nine collections. These include federal and state law, case law, legislative materials, Findok, collective agreements, EU law, EU case law, and ECtHR case law. The service is intended for Austrian legal professionals, including lawyers, notaries, judges, tax advisors, auditors, in-house counsel, and public-sector legal staff. IURIX is in a closed test phase for selected law firms and advisory practices, with applicants reviewed individually. Although the listed test place is free, all 100 places are shown as filled, and the maker says IURIX will become a paid product. The site says its smartphone browser works for access, while native iOS and Android apps are in development. IURIX says queries are anonymised before generative models process them, are not used for model training, and are processed within the EU. RICI may not surface every decision on a topic, so users are advised to check sources and currentness independently.
