Overview

A Jig is an interactive 3D presentation that explains a concept step by step and can show a product in augmented reality. Annotations, animation, sound, video, and custom branding let teams shape a guided explanation rather than simply display a model. Automatic optimization of large 3D files and CAD formats is useful when preparing detailed assets for AR rendering.

Jigs can be shared by link or QR code and embedded in websites without a viewing app. That lowers the barrier for customers and trainees outside the authoring team. Support for image and world tracking adds AR options, while a visual editor provides a way to build presentations without relying only on the source design software.

Key features

JigSpace’s integrations include 3ds Max, Blender, CATIA, Fusion, Revit, Rhino, SketchUp, and SolidWorks. This makes it a plausible fit for organizations with assets in those design ecosystems, though teams should assess their own import workflow before committing. The Apple Vision Pro app supports hand-based model manipulation, markup, and real-time multiplayer collaboration; those features are specifically valuable to teams using Vision Pro, not a reason on their own for other users to choose the product.

Security features include encryption at rest and in transit and SOC 2 Type 2 compliance. Password-protected sharing and role-based access are available to teams, while Enterprise SSO is reserved for Organisation and Enterprise plans. Those controls matter for managed company use, but do not remove the need to match the plan to the organization’s access requirements.

Pricing

The Free plan is 0.00 USD per free, billed annually, and includes 3 active Jigs, 3 steps, 100MB of team storage, and 2 user seats. The pricing FAQ describes a one-project limit for creating projects, alongside access to apps, viewers, and Jig format features. It is useful for exploration, but the project, step, storage, and seat caps make it a poor fit for a continuing team workflow.

Starter is aimed at qualified educators and startups. A subscription starts with a 7-day free trial, and it must be cancelled by the end of day 7 to prevent payment. Starter is the step up for a small eligible group that needs more room than Free, but four seats and 1GB storage still constrain broader deployment.

Enterprise has custom pricing and is billed through contact with sales. It includes custom usage and active Jig and step limits, 10GB team storage, and 30 included user seats. For larger organizations, the higher seat allowance and configurable usage are more suitable than Starter; the trade-off is that cost must be established directly with sales.

Platforms

JigSpace supports Android, iOS, macOS, web, and Windows. Its cross-platform reach helps teams distribute presentations to varied devices, with the Apple Vision Pro app providing the specialized spatial collaboration experience.

Who it's for

JigSpace is best for product teams, sales and marketing groups, educators, and trainers who can turn existing 3D assets into stepwise explanations and need to distribute them beyond their own devices. Qualified educators and startups have a defined Starter audience. It is less suitable for teams that need generous project capacity or many collaborators on the Free plan, or for organizations seeking a low-friction price comparison before contacting sales.

Pros and cons

App-free sharing and embedding: links, QR codes, and website embeds let recipients view Jigs without installing a viewing app.
Rich presentation tools: annotations, animation, sound, video, and branding support guided product explanations rather than a bare model display.
CAD and 3D breadth: named integrations span several common design tools, and automatic optimization targets large files for AR rendering.
Restrictive entry tier: the Free plan’s one-project allowance, 3 active Jigs, 3 steps, 100MB storage, and 2 seats limit sustained use.

Alternatives

For classroom-centered AR, compare Augmented Classroom, whose free Demo Plan allows one interactive test on mobile for a single user. Merge EDU is a better match for schools prioritizing student seats and classroom management in its Classroom plan. For AR coloring rather than product presentations, Quiver offers 10 free AR coloring sheets without a subscription. Delightex Edu suits educators looking for a free classroom starting point with up to 29 students, 2 projects, and 1 class. TrainAR is an alternative for users seeking open-source training software, free for commercial and non-commercial use under the MIT license. AR Flashcards is a focused iOS option for AR flashcards. Assemblr EDU offers a free entry point with 400 free 3D objects and 30 MB storage per account. U.S. Army STARS Anatomy is a free alternative centered on 3D skeleton exploration, quizzes, and more than 30 levels.

Verdict

Choose JigSpace if your team needs polished, stepwise 3D product explanations that can travel by link or embed and benefit from CAD asset support. Its blend of authoring, AR, and app-free viewing is the clearest reason to choose it. Look elsewhere if the Free plan’s project and seat caps are too restrictive, or if you need to know a paid price before entering a trial or sales conversation.
