D7 Networks
D7 Networks provides messaging and verification services through web access and APIs, including SMS, WhatsApp, Viber, number lookup, and two-factor verification. Its SMS API supports single or bulk messages in any language and can reach mobile networks worldwide. A no-code WhatsApp chatbot builder supports customer service automation, appointment management, feedback collection, and lead qualification. The Number Lookup API checks whether a number is valid and reachable, and returns country code and carrier information; new users receive 10 test credits with unlimited validity. REST API features include batch processing, scheduling, status webhooks, higher throughput, and request validation. SDKs are listed for Python, Ruby, Node.js, PHP, and Go. D7 states it is ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certified and encrypts critical data at rest and in transit. API authentication uses OAuth 2.0 bearer tokens, with TLS and SSL support. The company was founded in 2014 and is headquartered in Dubai.
FreeSWITCH
FreeSWITCH is an open-source framework for real-time voice and video communications. It can route calls, bridge video, transcode media, and connect protocols, and is designed for use in carriers, contact centers, and communication products. Its Event Socket exposes call control, channel management, and internal events to external processes over TCP. Integrations include HTTP backends, embedded Lua, Perl, Python, JavaScript, Java, and SignalWire connectivity. The mod_signalwire module connects to SignalWire for inbound and outbound PSTN calling over a persistent WebSocket session. Linux installation guidance covers Debian and Ubuntu using SignalWire packages or a source build. A free SignalWire account is required to access packages and downloads. FreeSWITCH is licensed under MPL 2.0 and can run in production at no cost; self-hosting requires dedicated resources to maintain on-premises infrastructure. The open-source edition has community support, while FreeSWITCH Pro offers commercial support, hardened builds, priority patches, and commercial modules including answering machine detection and licensed G.729 Annex A encoding and decoding.
