In their own words
DataCore SANsymphony
DataCore SANsymphony is self-hosted, block-based software-defined storage for SAN and hyperconverged environments. It pools storage from different hardware and centrally manages capacity provisioning and data placement. Performance tools include RAM caching, parallel I/O processing, auto-tiering, and load balancing. Recovery and availability features include synchronous mirroring, asynchronous replication with failover and failback, snapshots, and continuous data protection. It lists NVMe, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, and SAS/SATA protocols; NFS and SMB access is supported through Windows File Server. Administrators can use a console, REST API, PowerShell API, plug-ins, provisioning and orchestration, and real-time or historical charts. Data services include encryption and immutability, and backup-tool integration is supported. Deployment options include storage virtualization, converged, hyperconverged, and hybrid-converged configurations. Four editions address high-performance, midrange, smaller high-availability, and backup or replication needs. Pricing is on request; there is no free plan, though a trial is available. Server installations require Windows Server 2016 through 2025, with a documented minimum of 8 GB RAM and 20 GB local disk space.
Scale Computing Platform
Scale Computing Platform combines virtualization, servers, storage, backup, disaster recovery, and fleet management for edge and distributed infrastructure. SC//HyperCore is a lightweight type 1 bare-metal hypervisor based on KVM components and integrated with the SCRIBE storage layer. SC//Fleet Manager centrally monitors and manages distributed clusters, including zero-touch provisioning. HyperCore is designed to recover from hardware failures and add nodes to a cluster. Automation is available through a REST API and a Red Hat Certified Ansible Collection. Azure Arc, Azure Monitor, and Azure Policy integrate with on-premises workloads. Scale positions the platform for edge sites and distributed enterprises, including locations with few or no on-site IT staff. Fleet Manager uses HTTPS public key infrastructure, encrypted connections, and tenant- and role-based access. Secure Link sends interface data to a browser over TLS 1.2 and closes its outbound connection when the session ends. The hybrid platform supports KVM, live migration, high availability, and disaster recovery. Phone support runs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year; email support is listed Monday through Friday. Pricing is on request.
