In their own words

DataGrip

DataGrip is a desktop IDE for relational and NoSQL databases, available on Windows, macOS, and Linux. It connects to more than 50 supported databases and helps organize and manage database objects. SQL assistance includes code completion, inspections, error highlighting, quick-fixes, and refactoring. JetBrains AI Assistant can use database context to draft SQL from natural language and help correct errors, and the IDE supports workflows with AI agents such as Codex and Claude Agent. Its spreadsheet-like editor lets users inspect, change, and analyze data; the IDE also works with SQL, CSV, and JSON files and supports data import and export. Queries can run in a dedicated window or console, with result comparisons and work history through Local History and version control integrations including Git, SVN, and Mercurial. Individual non-commercial development has a free plan. Commercial use costs $10.90 a month, billed monthly, and includes a 30-day trial. Detailed code-related data collection for individual non-commercial users may be enabled by default, with an opt-out in settings.

DbVisualizer

DbVisualizer is a desktop database client for accessing, exploring, and optimizing databases. It connects to any database with a JDBC driver and provides extended support for Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, Snowflake, Elasticsearch, IBM Db2, and SQLite. Its tools include data editing, a visual query builder, query history, SSH tunneling, and exports to CSV, HTML, SQL, XML, XLS, XLSX, JSON, and TXT. The optional AI Assistant can answer database questions, explain query errors, and analyze code; its AI features are enabled only when users opt in. DbVisualizer runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux, but not on phones or tablets. The client runs within infrastructure controlled by the customer, and DbVis Software says it does not store, process, or access customer data. The free edition includes a User Guide and community access; full support requires Pro. Free is free. Pro with 60 day support is $199 a year, and Pro with premium support is $229 a year. Pro grants perpetual use of versions released during the subscription term; updates require an active subscription.
