In their own words
Deadline Engine
Deadline Engine is a web tool for calculating court and procedural deadlines. It displays the governing citation and the steps behind each calculation, drawing on a catalog that the homepage says contains 4,871 rules across 20 jurisdictions. Its deterministic rule logic accounts for deemed service, applicable clear-day rules, business-day adjustments, official bank holidays and court office closures; it does not use AI to calculate deadlines. The free calculator requires no account. Users can export matters as CSV or JSON, with PDF and calendar exports available per matter. Professional keeps histories of eligible server-recomputed calculations on individual matters and adds calendar feeds and downloadable ICS files. The service does not determine jurisdiction, interpret evidence, read court orders or decide whether a rule applies to a case. Deadline Engine describes its output as procedural information, not legal advice, and says dates should be checked against rules and case facts. It is developed for individual legal professionals, including solicitors, barristers, paralegals and compliance professionals.
Dockets.ca
Dockets.ca is a cloud-based case management, scheduling, and electronic filing portal for courts and tribunals. It connects judges, court staff, lawyers, and members of the public, including people representing themselves. Authorized court staff and judges can access designated electronic files to communicate and collaborate. Registered case participants can receive automatic email and text notices about electronic filings. For hearings and trials, the system supports calendaring, scheduling templates, and daily court lists generated from calendar information. It can produce customizable operational reports, including case duration and the time from completion of evidence to judgment. Scheduled video conferences can include links that send participants email notices. Dockets.ca also collects prescribed filing fees electronically and can integrate with third-party back-office accounting systems. Filed documents are organized in folders modeled on paper court files and conceptually aligned with the Rules of Civil Procedure. The maker describes the product as a secure, cloud-based commercial solution built in Canada for adoption across Canada. Court documentation is available online to authorized users from desktop operating systems and mobile phones. Pricing is available on request.
