DeployR Enterprise

DeployR Enterprise provisions and recovers devices using standardized operating-system deployment. It supports Windows, Linux, and ChromeOS, with cloud, on-premises, or hybrid deployment. Its web-based authoring interface works with a task-sequence engine based on PowerShell 7. Supported hardware includes HP, Dell, Lenovo, and Microsoft devices with ARM or Intel processors. PXE boot can use network, cloud, USB, HTTP, or HTTPS, including secure USB and Wi-Fi scenarios. Windows Autopilot, Entra join, and Intune.intuneappwin packages are supported. Microsoft BranchCache peer-to-peer distribution is enabled by default; full content management through StifleR costs extra. Server traffic uses TLS/HTTPS, and authentication options include Entra ID, passcode, certificate, and anonymous access. A 30-day trial is offered. The enterprise license covers up to 1,000 endpoints; above that, pricing is per endpoint, and smartphones are excluded. The listed suite costs $4.50 a year per endpoint for public sector and $5.75 a year per endpoint for private sector. Licenses are annual subscriptions, not perpetual.

OSDCloud

OSDCloud deploys Windows 11 through the internet from a WinPE environment, without local deployment infrastructure. It runs with the OSDCloud or OSD PowerShell modules and supports Windows 11 versions 23H2 through 25H2 on amd64 and arm64 systems. Windows images are downloaded from Microsoft during deployment. Drivers and firmware can come from Microsoft Update Catalog, while driver packs are available from Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Microsoft Surface. The FAQ says any UEFI device compatible with Windows should work. After deployment, local PowerShell modules are updated so the device can enter OOBE and be prepared for Windows Autopilot. A WinPE function can authenticate to Azure with device code flow. Provisioning packages may be placed on ISO media or USB and applied to the offline operating system. Requirements include a WinPE boot image, suitable drivers, internet access, PowerShell, and the OSDCloud or OSD modules. The Community Tool plan is free.
