In their own words
Devin
Devin is a coding tool that Cognition describes as an autonomous software engineer: it can plan, write, test and ship production code. Its workflows include migrations, refactors, documentation, scheduled chores, issue triage, bug fixes, testing and performance optimization. Devin runs in the cloud or on a user's machine, tests in its own browser and works toward a pull request ready to merge; larger tasks can be divided among parallel cloud agents. For local work, Devin CLI runs in the terminal on macOS, Linux and Windows, while Devin Desktop provides an IDE with syntax highlighting, autocomplete, debugging tools, agent fleet management and shared context. Listed capabilities also include code completion, chat assistance, codebase indexing and terminal access. Integrations and workflows involve tools including GitHub, Linear, Slack, Teams, Datadog, Sentry, Jira, Confluence, AWS, Google Drive and PostgreSQL. The free plan has limited usage; Pro costs $20 a month and Max costs $200 a month. Paid-plan allowances refresh daily and weekly, with extra usage available at API pricing.
Tencent CodeBuddy
Tencent CodeBuddy is an AI code editor and coding assistant for software development, with code completion, chat assistance, and a coding agent. Its described workflow spans requirements planning, product design, code development, and deployment. The IDE can turn Figma mockups into front-end and back-end code, and its assistance includes fixing errors, explaining code, reviewing it, and generating unit tests. It describes one-click deployment to a sandbox environment with shareable links for team feedback. CodeBuddy supports codebase indexing, terminal access, and configuration of MCP servers. The IDE lists Windows and macOS; CodeBuddy Code also supports Linux and requires Node.js 18.20 or higher. The free plan is free and includes 100 credits per month, 5,000 code completions, and 3 automated tasks. Pro is $10 a month or $96 a year. A 7-day trial is advertised with 500 base credits and requires a valid credit card. CodeBuddy Code uses read-only permissions by default and asks before actions such as editing files or running tests. Tencent says it does not manage or audit user-configured MCP servers.
