Overview

Dextr is a personal CRM for people who want more context and follow-up structure than a standard contact list provides. It suits people who meet many people and use Apple devices. Its free plan covers core organization without a contact cap, while Pro adds interaction logging and a Mac app.

Tags, custom relationship types, groups, and reminders can make a large address book easier to navigate and maintain. The trade-off is a focus on the Apple ecosystem: Dextr syncs with native iOS Contacts, and iCloud keeps its organizational data aligned across iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Key features

Flexible contact organization: Tags, custom relationship types, and groups let users sort people by the context that matters to them. Follow-up reminders provide a practical way to remember when to reconnect.
AI Organizer Assistant: The assistant helps organize contacts and clean up duplicate or incomplete entries. That is useful for tidying a messy list, though it does not replace the need to decide how relationships should be organized.
Contact and Apple-device syncing: Changes are reflected between Dextr and native iOS Contacts. iCloud can keep tags, relationships, notes, and organization consistent across iPhone, iPad, and Mac, making Dextr a better fit for Apple users than people who need broad platform coverage.
Interaction history and scanning: Pro adds interaction logging and business card scanning. Import and export are supported, giving users ways to move contact information in and out.
Privacy and permissions: Dextr says contact data and user content are not sent to the company or third parties, while app and device information, diagnostics, attribution, and subscription information may be collected. It names PostHog for analytics and diagnostics, Dub for link attribution, and RevenueCat for subscription infrastructure. Contacts access is required; notification, calendar, and camera access are optional for reminders, event integration, and scanning. The privacy policy describes encrypted transmission and access controls appropriate to the information handled. Deleting an account removes Dextr-specific tags, relationships, notes, and custom fields while preserving native iOS Contacts.

Pricing

Dextr uses a freemium model, with a 14-day trial and a free plan billed Free forever. The Free plan is free and includes unlimited contacts, AI organization, relationships and tags, reminders, places, and events. That is a substantial starting point for an individual who wants contact organization and follow-ups without paying or managing a contact quota.

Pro costs 14.99 USD per year, billed annually. It includes everything in Free plus interaction logging, business card scanning, and the Mac app. Pro is the relevant choice for users who want a record of interactions or desktop access; users who only need the core contact organization can stay on Free. The stated price is annual, so it is a yearly commitment rather than a monthly rate.

Platforms

Dextr supports iOS and macOS. Native contact syncing is tied to iOS Contacts, while iCloud can keep Dextr organization consistent across iPhone, iPad, and Mac. The Mac app is a Pro feature, so the free plan is less suitable for someone who wants to use Dextr on a Mac.

Who it's for

Dextr is a sensible fit for people who travel often, network frequently, date actively, or otherwise meet many people and want reminders and relationship context attached to contacts. It is particularly appealing if unlimited contacts on the free tier are enough and the user already relies on Apple's contact and cloud ecosystem. It is a weaker match for someone who needs Android or web access, or expects the Mac app and interaction logging without a paid plan.

Pros and cons

Pro: The free plan includes unlimited contacts, AI organization, relationship tools, and reminders, avoiding a contact-volume ceiling for core use.
Pro: Sync with native iOS Contacts and iCloud helps keep contact records and Dextr-specific organization aligned across Apple devices.
Pro: The privacy description distinguishes contact content from operational data that may be collected, and account deletion preserves native contacts.
Con: Dextr is limited to iOS and macOS, narrowing its usefulness for people who need Android or web access.
Con: Interaction logging and the Mac app are reserved for Pro, so users who need either must pay the annual price.
Con: Contacts access is required, a meaningful consideration for users who do not want an app integrated with their address book.

Alternatives

Contacts+ Personal CRM is worth considering for cross-platform coverage: it supports Android, iOS, and web, and its free plan has one account, 1,000 contacts, and daily sync. That cap and sync cadence are trade-offs against Dextr's unlimited free contacts and Apple-focused syncing.

Kinu may suit someone who wants an Android, iOS, or web option and can start with up to 10 people on a free plan; its free plan does not include cross-device sync.

Covve is an alternative to consider for Android, iOS, or web use, with a paid Essential plan priced at 12.00 USD per month and a stated focus on business-card and QR scanning.

KeepContact is another iOS-only option; its free plan is limited to 15 contacts and 3 reminders, making Dextr's unlimited-contact free tier the less restrictive starting point.

Yenesow offers an iOS alternative with a free plan capped at 5 connections, 10 conversations per month, and 5 nudges per week.

Relatable is an alternative for readers who want support across Android, iOS, macOS, web, and a browser extension.

Coleva is an iOS alternative from an independent developer in the United Kingdom.

Contact Book is an option for readers who prefer web or API access.

Verdict

Choose Dextr if you want a no-cost way to add relationship organization and follow-up reminders to an Apple-based contact list, with unlimited contacts on Free. Its strongest reason to choose it is that broad free core tier paired with iOS Contacts and iCloud syncing. Look elsewhere if you need Android or web access, or if interaction logging and Mac use must be included without a paid annual plan.
