Overview

Freshcaller combines business numbers from more than 90 countries and bring-your-own-carrier support with call handling, routing, and call intelligence. Agents can work through web, Android, and iOS apps. For teams already using Freshworks products, the ability to make calls within Freshdesk and turn a call into a ticket with one click is a practical advantage.

Its broad routing options suit teams with multiple queues or caller intents better than businesses that need only a basic phone line. The pay-as-you-go model also means the headline monthly price is only part of the cost: included minutes vary by tier, and additional usage carries per-minute charges.

Key features

Routing and call handling

Freshcaller supports team-, time-, and intent-based routing, queue callbacks, routing automation, and an auto attendant. Those tools can help direct callers through more complex support flows, though the value depends on whether a team needs that complexity. Agents can hold, mute, transfer, conference, forward, and drop voicemail during calls.

Call intelligence and automation

Call recordings, post-call transcripts, call-lifecycle information, and live dashboards give managers ways to review calls and monitor activity. Voice bots and speech-enabled IVR can handle repetitive queries and reduce wait times, making the automation features most relevant to teams with recurring caller needs.

Integrations and mobile support

Two-way marketplace integrations connect Freshcaller with Freshdesk, Freshservice, and Freshworks CRM. The Freshdesk call-to-ticket workflow is especially useful for support teams that want call handling and ticket follow-up together. Mobile apps support iOS 10 and higher and Android 5.0 and higher, but the app is available only in English.

Security and compliance

Freshworks says its services use AES 256-bit encryption at rest and HTTPS with TLS 1.2 in transit. Its Trust Center lists SOC 2 Type 2, ISO/IEC 27001:2022, ISO/IEC 27701:2019, SOC 3, PCI DSS v4.0.0, and other compliance resources. Freshworks says standalone Freshcaller is not PCI DSS applicable, even though its data stores are encrypted and its controls are audited against SOC 2, ISO 27001, ISO 27701, and Cyber Essentials Plus.

Pricing

Freshcaller has a free plan, paid plans billed annually, and a 14-day trial with access to all features in the Enterprise plan. It is pay-as-you-go with per-minute charges. Cancellation has no fee, but takes effect at the end of the term.

Plan	Price and included minutes	What it adds	Best fit
Free	$0/agent/month, billed annually, plus per-minute charges; unlimited agents	Free entry point	Teams exploring the service or keeping costs tied closely to usage; per-minute billing still applies.
Growth	$15/user/month, billed annually; 2,000 incoming minutes/month included	Number porting, wait queues, voicemail, warm and cold transfer, call recording, and day passes at $2/pass	Teams that need core call-center handling and recording with a defined monthly allowance.
Pro	$39/user/month, billed annually; 3,000 incoming minutes/month included	Holiday routing, agent statuses, routing automation, call conferencing, smart escalations, and day passes at $7/pass	Teams that need more routing controls and conferencing than Growth provides.
Enterprise	$69/user/month, billed annually; 5,000 incoming minutes/month included	Speech-enabled IVR, agent statuses, abandoned-call metrics, service-level monitoring, and day passes at $12/pass	Teams that need speech-enabled self-service and service-level monitoring.

The free plan avoids a fixed agent subscription but does not remove usage charges. Growth starts at $15/user/month and includes fewer minutes than Pro or Enterprise; the higher tiers cost more in exchange for larger allowances and additional routing, automation, or monitoring features. Teams should weigh both seat costs and expected calling volume rather than treating the entry price as the full bill.

Platforms

Freshcaller runs on the web, Android, and iOS. Its mobile apps support iOS 10 and higher and Android 5.0 and higher, and are available only in English.

Who it's for

Freshcaller is a good match for customer-support, sales, IT, and HR teams that handle enough inbound calls to benefit from routing, queues, recordings, and transcripts. Freshworks customers gain a more direct workflow through its integrations, especially the Freshdesk call-to-ticket action. A team with simple calling needs, little use for call intelligence, or unpredictable high call volume should compare the added feature and per-minute costs carefully.

Pros and cons

Pros: Team-, time-, and intent-based routing, callbacks, and an auto attendant support more structured inbound call flows.
Pros: The Freshdesk integration lets agents call within the service and convert calls into tickets with one click.
Pros: The 14-day trial opens access to Enterprise features, so teams can evaluate the full feature set before choosing a tier.
Cons: Per-minute charges apply even on the free plan, so usage can make the zero-dollar subscription less predictable as a total cost.
Cons: Included minutes vary from 2,000 on Growth to 5,000 on Enterprise, requiring teams to match allowances to call volume.
Cons: The mobile app is English-only, which limits its suitability for teams needing another app language.

Alternatives

Call Center Software and Business Phone Systems provide broader category comparisons. Among the named alternatives, Amazon Connect is a paid option with no free plan and a per-message SMS and third-party messaging price that can vary by region and communication type. Dialpad Support is another paid option with a free trial and apps across mobile, desktop, web, API, and extension platforms. Genesys Cloud CX offers a paid voice contact-center plan at $75.00 per month, billed annually. 8x8 Contact Center is a paid option with custom pricing. Daktela Contact Center offers a paid Voice plan at €30.00 per user/month. Comm100 Contact Center offers a paid Comm100 Voice plan at $27.00 USD per month, pay monthly. RingCentral RingCX has a $65.00 per-user monthly plan, with annual payment said to save up to 15%. Exotel Contact Center offers a paid XPrime plan at $70.00 per month.

Verdict

Choose Freshcaller if your team needs robust inbound routing, call records and transcripts, and a close workflow with Freshworks tools. The free plan and 14-day Enterprise trial make it accessible to assess, but the deciding factor should be the fit between included minutes, agent count, and per-minute usage. Teams wanting simpler calling or more predictable costs should look elsewhere.
