In their own words
Diffblue Cover
Diffblue Cover automatically generates unit tests for Java and Kotlin projects. The maker says generated tests compile, run, and check the code's current behavior. Cover is offered as an IntelliJ plugin, a command-line tool, and a CI pipeline integration, with supported environments including GitHub, GitLab, Maven, Jenkins, Azure, and AWS. Cover Reports visualizes test coverage, coverage risk, testability, and code complexity. Cover Optimize selects unit tests needed to validate changes and is integrated into Cover CLI and Cover Pipeline. Cover Refactor can suggest and apply Java refactorings intended to improve observability and testability. The maker says Cover runs locally in the customer's environment, needs no cloud service, and sends no data outside the organization. Projects must use Java 8, 11, 17, or 21, or Kotlin; use Maven 3.2.5+ or Gradle 4.9+; and compile without failing unit tests. JUnit and TestNG are supported. A free Community Edition and a free 14-day trial are listed. Each use requires a remote license-server check; offline activation is available only for Enterprise Edition through the CLI.
TestFirst
TestFirst is a unified QA platform for generating, automating, and managing tests across web, Android, API, console, and shell environments. Its agents turn requirements, documentation, or manual test cases into validated no-code end-to-end tests, and can migrate exportable Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or other suites. AI Memory keeps an updated model of a product’s features, workflows, and domain model. AI Test Recorder captures user actions and converts them into automation. Test management includes scopes, libraries, plans, results, reporting, guided manual testing, screenshots, recordings, issues, and releases. Two-way Jira integration covers issues, tasks, and sprints. Runs can execute locally or on-prem without consuming credits; cloud runs use runtime credits. The Free plan costs nothing and includes 100 one-time workspace credits, one test at a time, 100 default test cases, and 300 default test results. Plus costs $12 a month billed Annual; Pro costs $38 a month billed Annual. Ultimate pricing is custom.
