In their own words

DiskScope

DiskScope is a free, open-source desktop app for analyzing disk usage, finding files, and uninstalling applications. It scans files, folders, and apps in parallel, showing results in a sortable table, tree explorer, and zoomable treemap. Views include application sizes and file-type breakdowns. Fuzzy search filters by type, extension, size, and modified date and is designed to remain smooth beyond 100,000 rows. DiskScope reports actual on-disk usage, including sparse and compressed files. Deleted items move to the Recycle Bin; emptying it permanently clears contents after confirmation. On Windows, the Applications tab shows an installed program’s command before launching its native uninstaller. Disk analysis and search work on Windows, Linux, and macOS. Downloads list Windows 10/11 x64, macOS 12 or later, and Linux x64 builds. The macOS and Linux builds are marked experimental and not tested yet. The app runs locally with no telemetry, according to its maker, and checks for signed updates.

FolderSizes

FolderSizes is a Windows tool for examining file and folder space across local and network storage. It scans local drives, external drives, mapped network drives, UNC paths, and network shares, then presents results as treemap, sunburst, bar, and pie charts. Searches can be narrowed by age, name, attributes, size, owner, date, or depth-related criteria. Reports export to Excel, PDF, HTML, CSV, and XML; recurring scans can also send automated email reports. Disk and folder usage tracking, along with file system snapshots, can show changes over time. The free edition has no time limit and includes four visualizations, reports, advanced search, and scan filtering. The free trial has no feature limitations. A Personal Edition license costs $30 as a one-time purchase and is limited to personal and home network use; a Single-User Pro license costs $60 as a one-time purchase. Pro upgrades include priority technical support and free minor version upgrades. The maker says FolderSizes has been continuously developed since 2003.
