Overview

DisplayFusion brings multi-monitor configuration, window management and event-triggered automation into one Windows utility. It suits people who want repeatable control over a multi-screen workspace; its breadth is less compelling if you only need basic window tiling or virtual desktop controls.

The strongest case for it is the combination of detailed monitor settings and automation. The main qualification is that virtual desktop controls are absent, while several paid licenses distinguish household, individual and site-wide use.

Key features

Monitors and windows

DisplayFusion can add a taskbar to each monitor and configure resolution, colour depth, refresh rate, orientation, profiles and screen splitting. That makes it a useful fit for people who routinely change monitor arrangements or need consistent settings across configurations. Users who only want a second taskbar may not need the rest of the toolkit.

Window tools cover snapping, sizing and moving, with saved position profiles for restoring preferred arrangements. Layout presets and application rules help make repeatable desktop layouts practical. There are no virtual desktop controls, so users who need that alongside monitor and window management will need another tool.

Automation, remote control and wallpaper

Triggers can respond to events such as a window being created or focused, desktop unlock, or system idle, then run preset commands or custom scripts. This is a meaningful advantage for users who want their desktop to react to routine events rather than repeatedly applying settings by hand.

A phone or tablet can be used to change wallpaper, toggle monitors and perform other actions remotely. Wallpaper can come from a personal collection, online sources or a direct image URL. These options add convenience to a multi-screen setup, though the core strength remains control of monitors and windows.

Deployment and privacy

Corporate deployment options include silent installer settings and custom ADMX templates for Active Directory Group Policy, making the product relevant beyond individual desks. Data transferred to company servers is encrypted over HTTPS, backups are encrypted, and passwords are salted and hashed. Desktop applications send anonymous telemetry about operating system version, screen resolution and enabled features; users can disable it in product settings.

Pricing

The free version costs 0.00 USD per free and remains available after the 30-day Pro trial. It is the sensible starting point for users who want to evaluate the utility and continue without paying, though it gives up Pro access after the trial.

Pro Standard: 34.00 USD per once, billed per machine, with a lifetime license and all future versions. Best suited to a single machine.
Pro on Steam: 39.99 USD per once, billed for use wherever Steam is installed with the purchaser's Steam account. It requires the Steam desktop client for installation and includes a lifetime license.
Pro Personal: 49.00 USD per once, for any number of computers in the purchaser's house. It is for personal use, with one company computer allowed if only that purchaser uses it; the license is lifetime.
Pro Site: 899.00 USD per once for unlimited machines at one site, with a lifetime license.
Pro Enterprise: 3899.00 USD per once for unlimited computers at unlimited physical locations, with a lifetime license.

Standard is the lowest-cost paid route, but its per-machine term makes it less suitable than Personal for multiple household computers. Site and Enterprise address organizational scale rather than individual use; the former covers one site, while the latter covers unlimited sites. Customers with license questions can contact the company for help.

Platforms

DisplayFusion runs on Windows. The current download supports Windows 11, Windows 10 version 1607 or higher, and Windows Server 2016, 2019 and 2022, with x86, x64 and ARM64 architectures. It is not a cross-platform choice for a mixed desktop environment.

Who it's for

Choose DisplayFusion if you use multiple monitors on Windows and want display profiles, per-monitor taskbars, saved window arrangements or event-based automation in one place. The deployment options also make it a plausible fit for organizations managing Windows installations. It is a weaker fit for anyone whose priority is virtual desktops or who needs the same utility across operating systems.

Pros and cons

Pro: Monitor settings span resolution, colour depth, refresh rate, orientation, profiles and splitting, giving multi-screen users substantial configuration control.
Pro: Triggers can run commands or scripts in response to window and system events, supporting automated desktop routines.
Pro: Personal, Site and Enterprise licenses scale from household machines to unlimited computers across unlimited locations.
Con: Virtual desktop controls are not included, leaving a gap for users who want that part of desktop management in the same tool.
Con: Pro Standard is priced per machine, so users with multiple household computers may need the higher-priced Personal license.
Con: Windows-only support rules it out for users seeking a single cross-platform desktop utility.

Verdict

DisplayFusion is a strong choice for Windows users who need detailed multi-monitor control and want to automate repeatable desktop behavior. Its blend of display settings, window-position profiles and event triggers is the main reason to choose it; look elsewhere if virtual desktop controls or cross-platform support are essential.
