In their own words
diStudero
diStudero is a web-based study aid that turns uploaded material into AI-generated learning resources. It accepts PDFs, DOCX and PPTX files, photos, plain text and links, including scanned notes, and can produce flashcards, quizzes, notes, podcasts and infographics. Its tools also include mock exams, games, mind maps, assistants, timers and progress statistics. Generated flashcards can be edited, extended, printed or shared; the FSRS algorithm uses card performance to schedule reviews. A Chrome extension can analyze selected webpage text, translate in 15 languages, write with AI and import Google Docs documents up to 50,000 characters. On iPhone and Android, it installs from a browser as a progressive web app. The free tier allows 5 folders, 5 MB of storage, one file per upload, 10 AI flashcards and 10 quiz questions per day, plus 10 chat messages per day. Pro Monthly is €11.99 a month and includes 20 credits per month; a 5-day trial is listed.
FlashLeap
FlashLeap is an Android and iOS flashcard app that turns study material into question-and-answer cards and schedules reviews with spaced repetition. Users can paste notes, type a topic, photograph material, or write cards by hand. AI creates cards at a chosen difficulty, and users can edit them before saving. Cards can also include photos, OCR-scanned textbook pages, voice notes, Apple Pencil sketches, math, and code blocks. Study tools include flexible modes, per-deck accuracy and study-time measures, retention curves, streaks, and streak protection. The app works offline in guest mode; an account is needed for cloud backup or syncing across iPhone and iPad. AI generation runs on a secure server, and the site says submitted text is not stored after the request finishes. The free plan includes core card creation and spaced-repetition study, five AI generations per month, and a per-device deck limit. The listed Pro annual plan costs $14.99 a year and includes unlimited decks, 100 AI generations per month, every study mode, and full analytics; a 7-day free trial is listed. Pro lifetime costs $39.99, paid once with those listed features. Payments and subscription management are handled by Apple.
