In their own words
DocSheets
DocSheets is requirements and lifecycle management software for engineering teams that need to capture, trace, review, and report requirements. It links requirements with tests, risks, and other project artifacts through multilevel traceability, gap analysis, and customizable reports. Teams can set baselines manually or automatically, lock documents, track changes, roll back, and use electronic signatures and access controls. Real-time collaborative editing includes concurrency control for teams across time zones. Reporting tools include traceability matrices, charts, filtering, and grouping; the shared repository has built-in Excel and RTF viewers and editors. REST API connections include JIRA and GitHub, and the product supports Word, Excel, JSON, HTML, and PDF import or export. DocSheets runs on iOS, macOS, Windows, and the web, with cloud SaaS or on-premises deployment. One-time plans start at $2,000.00 USD; there is no free plan, but the maker offers a 60-day trial with full feature access and no credit card required.
Doorstop
Doorstop manages textual requirements alongside source code in version control. It stores requirements and other linkable items as YAML files in directories that form documents, then organizes those documents into a tree and can validate traceability across it. It publishes document hierarchies and trace matrices as plain text, HTML, LaTeX, or Markdown; templates can shape output, and HTML and LaTeX publishing use them. Requirements can be imported or exported as YAML, CSV, TSV, or Excel files. Doorstop requires Python 3.10 or later and Git or another version control system, and it can be added to a Poetry project. It runs on Linux, macOS, and Windows, with API and self-hosted options, including standalone web-server or WSGI deployment. An experimental desktop GUI handles basic editing. The tool is free at free and licensed under LGPLv3. Baseline support and version history are listed, but approval workflows are not.
