Overview

Dolibarr is an open-source ERP and CRM suite for businesses, freelancers, and associations that need more than customer management. It is best suited to organizations willing to select and manage a modular deployment; its broad workflow coverage is compelling, but hosted SaaS and tailored assistance come through third parties and partners.

Key features

Teams can enable modules for CRM and sales, HR, products and stock, finance and billing, marketing, and project management rather than taking on every function at once. That flexibility can keep a deployment focused, though it also means the organization must decide which modules fit its processes. The suite spans proposals, orders, contracts, invoices, payments, bank reconciliation, accounting, shipments, and manufacturing, with multi-entity support as well. This breadth makes Dolibarr a credible option for organizations seeking sales and operational workflows in one system, not just a way to track contacts.

A marketplace of external add-ons and a low-code Module Builder offer ways to extend or adapt the application. REST APIs use HTTP and JSON to extract data and create, update, or delete records; triggers and hooks add further extension points. Listed connectivity includes LDAP, PayPal, Stripe, Paybox, SMTP providers, Google services, and external e-commerce platforms. Synchronization modules cover PrestaShop, Magento, osCommerce, WooCommerce, and OpenCart. An embedded e-commerce module has a tentative availability date of the end of 2026, so organizations that need that capability now should not plan around it.

Security measures include encrypted passwords or security keys, optional forced HTTPS, protections against SQL injection, XSS, SSRF, and CSRF, and permission checks for pages and files. The project documents a vulnerability-reporting process and says reports are usually processed in a few days. Users can turn to public forums for installation, upgrades, and usage questions, or to the worldwide partner network for assistance and custom development; teams seeking a single included support channel may find that arrangement less direct.

Pricing

The Dolibarr ERP & CRM plan costs 0.00 USD per free and is Free Open Source Software for on-premise or cloud deployment. The price makes it a strong fit for organizations that can operate the software themselves or arrange partner help, without a recurring software-plan charge. Hosted SaaS offers are provided by third parties, so buyers should assess those separately rather than assume hosting is part of the free plan.

Platforms

Dolibarr supports API, Linux, macOS, self-hosted, web, and Windows. The downloads page provides stable production versions for all operating systems, giving organizations options across self-managed environments and web access.

Who it's for

Dolibarr is aimed at SMEs, large companies, freelancers, and associations. It fits organizations that want configurable coverage across finance, stock, orders, manufacturing, and related workflows, and have the capacity to choose modules and manage deployment. Those seeking a centrally provided SaaS service or assistance bundled into a single vendor plan should weigh the third-party hosting and partner support model carefully.

Pros and cons

Broad workflow coverage: proposals through manufacturing, alongside finance, inventory, order management, and multi-entity support, can bring diverse operations into one suite.
Modular and extensible: teams can activate needed functions and use add-ons, a low-code builder, APIs, triggers, and hooks to adapt the system; selecting and configuring that mix takes ownership.
No software-plan charge: the free open-source plan supports on-premise or cloud deployment, while hosted SaaS is a separate third-party offer.
Support is distributed: public forums and a worldwide partner network provide routes to help, but organizations should be prepared to seek assistance through those channels.
Embedded e-commerce is not a near-term assumption: its tentative availability date is the end of 2026, although external synchronization modules already support several platforms.

Alternatives

For manufacturing-focused requirements, compare Cetec ERP, a paid option with a free trial and API, self-hosted, and web platforms. Global Shop Solutions ERP is another paid alternative, with broad platform support including mobile and desktop systems; its pricing is tailored to the company and includes an upfront plus ongoing quarterly cost. abas ERP may suit buyers evaluating a paid ERP whose implementation costs vary with users, process complexity, migration, functions, and adjustments. Aptean Industrial Manufacturing ERP Traverse Edition is a paid alternative with a free trial and pricing on request. Epicor Kinetic is worth considering for buyers choosing among platform cores, cloud packages, concurrent-user licenses, and industry bundles. For smaller manufacturing teams comparing subscription plans, MRPeasy offers a Starter plan at 49.00 USD per month, billed monthly, per user; annual billing offers one month free, and from the 11th user the charge is $79 per 10 users. Genius ERP uses custom pricing based on shop size, user count, hosting model, and required features. Odoo Manufacturing offers a free One App plan with unlimited users, alongside paid plans with broader app and hosting options.

Dolibarr also appears in Material Requirements Planning Software, ERP Software, Bill of Materials Software, and Gym Accounting Software.

Verdict

Choose Dolibarr if you want broad, modular business workflows in open-source software and can take responsibility for deployment, configuration, or partner coordination. Its strongest case is the combination of extensive operations coverage and a free self-hosted or cloud plan. Look elsewhere if you require hosted SaaS or a consolidated support arrangement directly from the maker.
