Torus
Torus is a free, open-source platform for creating, delivering, and optimizing adaptive learning experiences. It combines course authoring and delivery with rich text, media, and interactive activities. Educators can use, adapt, remix, publish, and version learning components and course derivatives. The Activity Bank stores reusable activities such as quiz questions that can be searched, tagged, and aligned with learning objectives. Branched multiple-choice activities route learners to follow-up questions based on responses. By default, scoring counts all activities on a page, so completing a branch may not produce full credit or a completion checkmark. Torus tracks performance in real time to help educators refine content. It supports LTI 1.3, an extensible activity framework, API access, and managed or self-hosted deployment. The MIT license permits commercial use and industry collaboration. Version 33 added an Instructor Intelligent Dashboard, Adaptive Pages enhancements, template changes, accessibility improvements, and 151 platform updates.
