In their own words
Doorstop
Doorstop manages textual requirements alongside source code in version control. It stores requirements and other linkable items as YAML files in directories that form documents, then organizes those documents into a tree and can validate traceability across it. It publishes document hierarchies and trace matrices as plain text, HTML, LaTeX, or Markdown; templates can shape output, and HTML and LaTeX publishing use them. Requirements can be imported or exported as YAML, CSV, TSV, or Excel files. Doorstop requires Python 3.10 or later and Git or another version control system, and it can be added to a Poetry project. It runs on Linux, macOS, and Windows, with API and self-hosted options, including standalone web-server or WSGI deployment. An experimental desktop GUI handles basic editing. The tool is free at free and licensed under LGPLv3. Baseline support and version history are listed, but approval workflows are not.
Jama Connect Test Management Center
Jama Connect Test Management Center helps engineering and QA teams define, organize and execute requirements-based test plans and cases. Teams can run manual tests and record defects linked to failed tests. Requirements, test status and results remain connected for verification and validation traceability. Dashboards monitor test progress and requirements, while reports can map regulations, requirements and tests for compliance evidence. The product can generate structured, traceable test cases from requirements and identify coverage gaps or ambiguities. Jama Connect is offered as cloud or self-hosted deployment, with web and API access. Demonstrated integrations include TestRail, Xray, Parasoft, Azure DevOps and Jira, and a REST API supports integrations and test-result imports. Jama reports SOC 2 Type 2 certification, OWASP practices, security scans, penetration tests and TLS encryption. Test Runner users execute tests and edit plans; creating test cases requires a Creator license. Hosting, reviewer licenses, file storage and a hosted sandbox are included at no charge, while paid pricing is available on request.
