In their own words

Doorstop

Doorstop manages textual requirements alongside source code in version control. It stores requirements and other linkable items as YAML files in directories that form documents, then organizes those documents into a tree and can validate traceability across it. It publishes document hierarchies and trace matrices as plain text, HTML, LaTeX, or Markdown; templates can shape output, and HTML and LaTeX publishing use them. Requirements can be imported or exported as YAML, CSV, TSV, or Excel files. Doorstop requires Python 3.10 or later and Git or another version control system, and it can be added to a Poetry project. It runs on Linux, macOS, and Windows, with API and self-hosted options, including standalone web-server or WSGI deployment. An experimental desktop GUI handles basic editing. The tool is free at free and licensed under LGPLv3. Baseline support and version history are listed, but approval workflows are not.

Modern Requirements4DevOps

Modern Requirements4DevOps is a requirements management platform built inside Azure DevOps for enterprise and regulated engineering teams. Smart Docs gives Azure DevOps work items a document-style interface with hierarchy, configurable columns, and reusable templates. Smart Report creates Word, PDF, or HTML reports from live Azure DevOps data using customizable templates. Teams can build traceability matrices with heatmaps and coverage-gap analytics, assign reviewers and approvers, retain rejection comments in an audit trail, and capture immutable baselines at milestones. AI features cover elicitation, analysis, chat, impact assessment, diagrams, mockups, pseudocode, test scripts, conversion, and document generation. It works with Azure DevOps Services and Server, while Test Hub Reporting links reports to Azure Test Plans. The platform runs on web and Windows. Pricing is available on request, with a 30-day trial offering full access, including Copilot4DevOps, through a sandbox or connected Azure DevOps environment.
