Overview

Reading Trainer is a structured reading-practice service built around adaptive lessons, individual drills and progress tracking. It is best for frequent readers and students who want to work on speed, comprehension and retention together. The curriculum and statistics give practice direction, but the free tier is too narrow for sustained training.

Key features

The curriculum adjusts to progress and results, which makes it a better fit for readers who want a guided routine than for those looking only for a quick speed-reading tool. Its 20 exercises include 15 that can be practiced individually, giving users some choice to target particular skills outside the plan; the rest are tied to guided training. Comprehension exercises broaden the focus beyond speed.

Statistics cover exercise performance, reading power, strengths and weaknesses, and are available on the app and website. PowerReader lets users practice with their own content, while adjustable exercise font size and 10 training languages make sessions more adaptable. Offline use lasts up to two weeks, but progress cannot sync until connectivity returns, so it is less convenient for anyone moving between devices while offline.

Pricing

The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and includes the first curriculum unit and a couple of exercises. That is enough to sample the approach, not enough for a meaningful long-term routine. Premium provides full access to the personalized adaptive curriculum, unlimited units, interactive exercises and cloud synchronization of progress. Choose Free to try the training, and Premium if you want to continue through the full curriculum and sync progress.

Platforms

Reading Trainer supports web, Android, iOS and Windows. The supported-platform details also identify web and Android, so those are the clearest fit for users who need to rely on those platforms. Progress can be viewed on the app and website, while offline sessions are limited to the app’s two-week allowance and do not sync until online.

Who it's for

Frequent readers, executives, personal assistants, high school and college students, and purchasing and sales professionals are among the audiences the service targets. It is most compelling for people who will use guided practice and review their performance, rather than readers who only need a fast way to consume articles. Schools and businesses can request a demo for customized curricula, exercises and progress monitoring; business integrations can connect with an existing HR ecosystem and monitor employee progress.

Pros and cons

Pros: Adaptive training gives practice a responsive structure; 15 standalone exercises allow some focused practice beyond the curriculum; statistics make performance and areas of weakness visible; PowerReader supports practice with personal content; 10 training languages widen its reach.
Cons: The free tier stops after one curriculum unit and a couple of exercises, limiting continued use; offline progress cannot sync until connectivity returns; full curriculum access and cloud sync require Premium.

Verdict
