In their own words
Dorico
Dorico is music notation software for creating, editing, arranging and publishing scores. It supports MIDI and MusicXML import and export, as well as audio and graphics export. Composers can move music between players, expand or reduce it across instruments, and create fully voiced parts from chord symbols. Scores are formatted automatically, while Dorico Pro adds thousands of customization options. The software includes hundreds of sounds, more than 30 effects processors and an audio Mixer. Music can be shared with performers or collaborators, and team workflows are supported. Dorico runs on desktop and iPad; the iPad version can produce sheet music for playing, sharing or printing. Dorico SE 6 is free forever for works of up to eight players, and Dorico for iPad is offered as a free full version with optional paid functionality. A 60-day trial is available. Paid versions start at ₹10,913.00, including 15% VAT; Dorico Pro 6 costs ₹63,194.00, including 15% VAT.
Harmony Assistant
Harmony Assistant is desktop software for computer-assisted music composition and editing. It supports MusicXML, MIDI, parts extraction, and tablature, and runs on Linux, macOS, and Windows. Users can enter scores with a mouse, computer keyboard, or external MIDI keyboard, then work in full-page editing or engraver mode for score layout. Its embedded SoftSynth contains hundreds of instruments and can play through basic sound cards without external MIDI hardware. The program loads and saves MIDI, WAV, AIFF, MP3, OGG, TAB, ABC, and XML files. The embedded MyrScript language lets users add features. Documents can be password-protected and allowed to play without modification. Virtual Singer is an additional module for singing lyrics in multiple languages and voices. The trial has no time limit, but saving is disabled and printing is limited to one page while unregistered. A registration code is a lifetime license for one platform and includes future versions.
