Overview

AI.dp combines OCR, classification, conversion, verification, and fraud detection in document workflows. It handles more than 50 document types out of the box and can be trained for custom types, while users choose among more than 150 extraction fields. That range suits varied finance, logistics, manufacturing, KYC, and retail processes better than a single-form intake tool.

Batch processing can handle thousands of documents in parallel. The drag-and-drop workflow builder covers intake, extraction, and validation, so teams can shape how documents move rather than merely receive OCR output. That flexibility also means someone must define fields, rules, and exception handling; buyers who want a fixed, low-touch scanner may find the platform more machinery than they need.

Key features

Configurable extraction: Teams select fields and can train custom document types. Supplier, line-item, and tax extraction, along with PO matching, support finance and procurement work that depends on more than basic text capture.
Workflow routing and review: Business-rule approvals can automate routine cases, while human-in-the-loop review lets operators validate and correct OCR results. This is valuable when exceptions need oversight, but it keeps people in the process where automated rules cannot settle a case.
Developer and integration options: APIs, SDKs, async APIs, and documentation support implementation, and Doxis says setup can generally be completed within a day. Connections with more than 200 business apps and custom connections through the API make it more adaptable to existing systems. The platform also includes a prompt builder and access controls.
Exports and scale: Data can be delivered as JSON, XML, CSV, XLSX, UBL, PDF, or TXT; the integrations page describes more than 20 export formats. Parallel processing of thousands of documents makes it suitable for substantial queues, rather than only occasional individual files.
Security and data handling: Doxis cites ISO 27001 and ISAE 3000 Type I certifications, GDPR and CCPA compliance, SSL encryption, and EU hosting. It says customer data is not stored by default, processing is covered by a data processing agreement, and Amsterdam is the default server location, with custom locations available on request. The FAQ describes encryption in transfer and ISO-certified infrastructure.
Language coverage: AI.dp supports Latin-based languages and Doxis works with businesses to expand coverage. That is a meaningful boundary for organizations processing documents in other scripts.

Pricing

The starting price is €95/mo. There is no free plan, but a free trial is available. The Free credits option is free and provides €25.00 worth of free credit on a pay-as-you-go basis, with usage billed monthly. That can support a limited evaluation, but it is not an ongoing free tier.

Custom pricing depends on volume, workflow complexity, and subscription plan. It is the relevant route for sustained or complex operations, but buyers should establish expected usage and workflow needs before comparing total cost. No seat or processing quota is stated for the paid starting price, so teams with high volume should confirm the commercial terms rather than extrapolate from the entry figure.

Platforms

AI.dp is cloud-deployed and supports web, API, Android, and iOS. The API and SDK options make it relevant to teams integrating processing into existing software; the mobile and web platforms cover access beyond a back-end integration.

Who it's for

AI.dp is a good fit for finance and procurement teams handling invoices and purchase orders, as well as logistics, manufacturing, KYC, and retail operations with varied document types. Its configurable fields, human review, routing, and integrations matter most when processing needs to be repeatable and connected to other business systems. Organizations needing non-Latin script support, a free ongoing plan, or a simple fixed-purpose scanner should look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pro: More than 50 ready document types and custom training cover varied paperwork without limiting teams to one template.
Pro: Field selection, business rules, and human correction combine automation with an explicit path for exceptions.
Pro: Broad app connections, APIs, SDKs, and multiple export formats help fit processing into existing workflows.
Con: Workflow flexibility requires decisions about fields, rules, and validation; it is not a plug-in scanner for teams unwilling to configure a process.
Con: No free plan and usage-dependent custom pricing make ongoing cost harder to assess from the starting price alone.
Con: Language support is centered on Latin-based scripts, limiting fit for some multilingual document operations.

Alternatives

For invoice-specific OCR, Veryfi Invoices OCR API has a free plan and trial, but its Starter plan requires a $500/mo minimum commitment; choose it when invoice-focused processing is the priority and that commitment suits the expected volume. Nanonets Invoice OCR offers a free plan with $50 in credits before a $100/month option for 100 credits, making it worth considering when a credit-based invoice OCR entry point is preferable.

Parseur has a free plan capped at 20 pages/month, one user, and 90-day document retention, so it suits a small, low-volume start rather than AI.dp's broader workflow needs. Tungsten Power PDF is a paid PDF editor with Windows desktop creation, editing, and conversion, and fits buyers focused on desktop PDF work instead of document extraction workflows.

Esker Accounts Payable Automation is another paid AP option with pricing by contact or demo. Medius Contract Management is a paid add-on to AP Essentials or AP 360 at additional cost, so it is relevant to buyers already considering those subscriptions. Rossum AP Automation starts at $18,000 per year with unlimited seats and API access, a more explicit annual entry point for AP automation. Yooz bases its subscription price on document volume and includes unlimited users and four hours of complimentary setup, a relevant comparison for teams evaluating volume-based AP subscriptions.

Verdict

Choose Doxis AI.dp if your organization needs to extract data across varied document types, route work through rules and human review, and connect the result to existing systems. Its combination of breadth, configurable validation, and scale is the strongest reason to choose it. Look elsewhere if your workflow is simple, your documents rely on non-Latin scripts, or you need a durable free tier and predictable low-volume pricing.
