In their own words
Drata
Drata helps companies manage compliance, internal and third-party risk, and customer assurance. It automates control monitoring, evidence collection, and framework mapping. Its Trust Center offers customers a secure self-service portal to review a company’s security posture and request document access. Vendor risk features include inventory synchronization, questionnaire automation, risk tiering, agentic risk scoring, and automated assessment reports. Drata says it integrates with hundreds of tools across a technology stack. Its Open API follows REST standards and allows granular read and write permissions for API keys. Framework support includes SOC 2, ISO 27001, ISO 42001, HIPAA, PCI DSS, GDPR, CCPA, and multiple NIST frameworks. Pricing is available on request, and there is no free plan. Approved customers may receive trial services until the communicated trial ends, a purchased subscription begins, or Drata terminates the trial. Support is provided by chat and ticket Monday through Friday, 24 hours per day, excluding specified holidays, at no additional charge. Trust Center Essential and Pro are not currently supported on mobile device screens.
OpenGRC
OpenGRC is a web application for cyber governance, risk and compliance aimed at small and midsized businesses and teams. It covers risk management, controls and implementations, audits, vendor management, incident response and project management. Audit workflows handle evidence requests, progress tracking and report generation. Vendor assessments can use a dedicated portal, customizable questionnaires and weighted scoring. Listed frameworks include NIST 800-171, ISO 27001, SOC 2, CMMC and PCI DSS. The platform has no third-party integrations built in, but provides a REST API; the API limit is 60 requests per minute per user, or per IP for unauthenticated requests. Enterprise includes AI risk assessments, automated vendor survey responses and AI gap assessments. The free Community edition is self-hosted and requires a web server and database server. Enterprise Basic costs $4,500 per year, while Enterprise Enhanced costs $7,500 per year. Hosted plans state a 99.5% monthly uptime commitment and say customer data is not used to train AI models.
