In their own words
Duet Partner
Duet Partner provides studio management tools for music teachers to schedule students, collect payments, report activities, and manage business operations. Its Season Smart Scheduler gathers families’ preferred lesson times and drafts a schedule based on teacher availability and priorities. The calendar handles recurring lessons, changes, cancellations, reminders, and attendance. Student records include profiles and sibling family groupings, with bulk email and text messaging and email templates. Duet sends studio-family information by text, with email as a backup; parents and students do not need Duet accounts. Teachers can collect credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and ACH bank transfer payments through Stripe. Duet runs on Android, iOS, and the web. The monthly plan costs $9 a month, while the annual plan costs $99 a year; both include all features and charge a 1% transaction fee on family digital payments. There is no free plan, but a 30-day trial is available. The service currently supports access for a single teacher and does not provide a free studio website builder or an online studio and music-optimized video-conferencing platform.
OPS
OPS is a management platform for orchestras, bands, and music schools, bringing scores, member records, instrument inventory, accounting, and documents together. Its score library uses OCR to identify scanned scores and create a separate PDF for each instrument part. Member management supports custom fields and groups, bulk imports and exports, and optional user accounts. Instrument records can include loan contracts, repairs and maintenance, QR labels, photos, and waiting lists. The music school module handles enrolments, courses, attendance, grades, report cards, and a parent portal. Accounting follows the French Plan Comptable Général for associations and includes FEC export. Setlists can be shared with a public link or embedded on a website; ensembles can cross-share scores through the Mediathek. OPS Scores is an iPad app with Apple Pencil annotation, offline access, and Bluetooth page-turn pedal support. OPS Mobile for iPhone supports QR scanning, score browsing, inventory and loan management, member lookup, and an accounting overview. The maker says data is hosted on OVH servers in Strasbourg, stays in Europe, and is GDPR-compliant. Events, calendars, and in-product communication are marked as coming soon.
