In their own words
dust
dust is a free Rust command-line tool for finding where disk space is used. It lays out large files and subdirectories as a tree, with colored bars showing disk usage and hierarchy. Filters can include or exclude files using regular expressions and set a minimum file size. Output options let you show files or directories, group by file type, and choose size units. A screen-reader option removes bars and symbols and adds a depth-level column. dust runs on Linux, macOS, and Windows, with release packages listed for each, including architecture-specific builds. The README lists installation routes including Cargo, Homebrew, DNF, Snap, mise, Pacstall, conda-forge, deb-get, x-cmd, and Scoop. The Snap package can access files only in /home. The project is licensed under Apache-2.0; its v1.2.6 release page displays SHA-256 checksums for downloads. GitHub Issues and Discussions are available for support.
MindSpark
MindSpark is an open-source mind-mapping app that runs in a browser or can be self-hosted. Its editor combines an infinite canvas with automatic layouts, keyboard-first editing, drag-and-drop reordering, search, presentation mode, and undo and redo. A Markdown outline and the map canvas stay synchronized as users edit either view. Research tools can fill citation details from Crossref using a DOI and export cited nodes as a references list. Users can compile a map branch into a prompt, estimate its tokens, and run it with their own Anthropic or OpenAI API key. MindSpark imports JSON, OPML, Markdown, GitMind, and MindMeister files, and exports PNG, PDF, JSON, Markdown, Word, and Mermaid. Self-hosted mode stores maps in SQLite and requires Node.js 22 or later; browser mode saves maps as private JSON files in a repository on GitHub, Gitea, Forgejo, or GitLab. The app is free with no feature gates or usage limits and is released under the MIT license.
