In their own words

DYMO Connect

DYMO Connect is free desktop software for making and printing labels with DYMO LabelWriter and LabelManager printers. Its listed download is version 1.6.2 for Windows 10 or higher and macOS 14 or higher. Users can start from more than 60 label types and preset templates or create their own designs with text, addresses, images, barcodes, QR codes, shapes, lines, counters, and date or time objects. QR codes can encode text, a phone number, email, SMS, vCard or URL. Bulk printing can use data from Excel, Outlook and Google Contacts; the guide also describes imports from Access databases and CSV files. Labels can draw on DYMO contact lists and, on macOS, Outlook, Google or Apple contacts. Supported printers include LabelWriter 550 and 450 series models and several LabelManager models. Address Fixer checks US addresses and can add ZIP+4, up to 60 addresses per hour, but may be unavailable when USPS verification limits are reached. Developer resources include.NET, Python, beta Swift for iOS and a JavaScript web SDK; Python requires a.NET runtime.

gLabels

gLabels is a desktop GUI program for laying out and printing labels and business cards on peel-off sheets for laser or ink-jet printers. Designs can combine text, images, lines, shapes, and barcodes. Its document merge uses records from an external data source, such as a CSV file, to create a different label for each record. Example uses include address labels, name tags, price tags, and CD/DVD labels. gLabels is free, with a plan listed at free, and runs on Linux, macOS, and Windows.

The project describes gLabels-qt as development work toward gLabels 4, the next major release. There are currently no official releases of version 4 or self-hosted binary snapshots; users are encouraged to build the code themselves. Listed additions include a Qt6 rewrite, an activity-based interface, user-defined variables, continuous-roll support, and new product templates. The legacy 3.x version has not been supported since 2018. gLabels-qt is licensed under the GNU GPL version 3 or, optionally, a later version, and is distributed without warranty.
