Overview

Businesses can reward customers with stamps, points, discounts, and other incentives. Customers earn and redeem from their phones without downloading an app, and can save loyalty cards to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. That keeps participation simple for customers, though businesses seeking a dedicated customer app will not find one in the Free Plan.

Receipt rewards let customers scan receipts in Meed’s web app; AI reads and verifies them and adds stamps without POS integration. For visit-based rewards, a QR scan or NFC tap can issue a stamp on arrival without staff interaction or extra equipment. These are practical alternatives to POS-connected rewards, but Meed is not the right fit if integration with a point-of-sale system is essential.

Key features

Configurable rewards and earning

Operators can create 10- or 20-stamp cards and place milestone rewards at selected points. Earned milestones are added automatically to the customer’s wallet card. This gives businesses control over reward timing without requiring a separate app, while the card format may be less suited to programs that need a more app-centered customer experience.

Business management and privacy

The business portal covers programs, memberships, venue performance, campaigns, and analytics on earned and redeemed rewards. Operators can also use the Meed for Business app to issue stamps and confirm redemptions. Meed’s anonymised loyalty feature separates activity data from personal identity, allowing businesses to examine behavior patterns without seeing customer identity.

Automated campaigns and a referral program are supported. The available facts do not establish their configuration or scope, so businesses should weigh those capabilities against the specific campaign workflows they require.

Pricing

Meed uses a freemium model. The Free plan is free and covers up to 50 members with no credit card required. That makes it a low-commitment way for a small business to start, but members joining after the cap is reached remain pending until the business upgrades. The Free Plan also specifies no hardware and no customer app.

Pro is $59 per month, with unlimited members and two locations included; each additional location costs $39. This is the more appropriate tier for businesses that have outgrown the member cap or operate multiple venues, although the extra-location fee makes expansion beyond two locations an ongoing cost. A separate Pro Plan description gives the option of $59/month or $590/year and includes custom push notifications, with the same two-location allowance and $39 additional-location charge. The annual term is lower than twelve monthly payments at $59, while custom push notifications distinguish that description from the monthly Pro terms.

Platforms

Meed is available on Android, iOS, and the web. Customers use the web app to scan receipts and can keep loyalty cards in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet; operators can use the business app on the App Store or Google Play.

Who it's for

Meed is aimed at customer-facing local businesses such as cafés, gyms, salons, bars, clinics, and shops. Its QR and NFC check-ins suit visit-based programs, while receipt scanning offers a purchase-based route without POS integration. It is a stronger fit for operators comfortable with wallet cards and a browser-based customer flow than for businesses requiring POS connectivity or a customer app.

Pros and cons

Several ways to earn: receipt scans, QR or NFC check-ins, and operator-issued stamps accommodate purchase- and visit-based rewards without POS integration.
Wallet-based participation: customers can use phone-based cards without installing a dedicated customer app.
Useful free entry point: the no-cost plan requires no credit card, but its 50-member cap can interrupt new enrollment until an upgrade.
Costs rise with footprint: Pro includes two locations, then charges $39 per additional location.
No POS integration: the independent receipt and check-in flows are helpful for businesses without POS needs, but exclude those that rely on a connected till.

Verdict

Meed is a sensible choice for local businesses that want wallet-based loyalty with flexible receipt and visit rewards, especially when they do not need POS integration. Its free tier is useful for a small program, but the 50-member ceiling and Pro location charges make growth costs central to the decision. Choose another product if POS connectivity or a dedicated customer app is a requirement.
