Overview

PAM Wellbeing pairs a workplace wellbeing app with an employee assistance programme (EAP), making it a natural fit for employers that want everyday resources and personal support under one arrangement. Its strongest case is breadth; the main constraint is that employees need an organisation code and organisations must request custom pricing.

Key features

The Champion Health app and web portal cover mental, physical, financial and social wellbeing. Risk assessments, goal-setting and habit tracking can help staff find resources and build routines, while online CBT, mindfulness courses, resilience material, expert learning, sleep and nutrition advice, and a virtual gym offer more than a library of articles. Tailored programmes, company challenges, masterclasses, webinars, podcasts, recipes and workout videos give employers varied ways to encourage participation. That range suits a mixed workforce, though it remains distinct from the EAP’s confidential support for personal concerns.

The EAP combines a 24/7/365 helpline with live chat, email, online contact and callback options, and access in more than 200 languages. Short-term counselling is available by telephone, video or in person. The most popular service level includes up to six telephone or video counselling sessions per employee; enhanced cover can add up to four CBT sessions or eight digital CBT sessions. Practical legal, family-care and financial information, trauma support, management consultancy and specialist referrals broaden the offer beyond counselling. This is a substantial range of support channels, but the session allowances make clear that counselling is short-term rather than open-ended.

The EAP app and portal also include downloadable leaflets, stress-management tools, health-condition advice, news, monthly features and wellbeing videos. Risk assessment and goal-setting tools are included in core EAP models. PAM says individual use remains confidential and that employers receive only generalised, aggregated workforce usage data; anonymised app data can also help employers understand workforce health profiles and shape initiatives. Organisations can integrate PAM Assist with other PAM occupational health services, including return-to-work services and onsite health screening.

Pricing

PAM Wellbeing is paid, with custom pricing. Organisations need to request a quote, so it is not possible to assess its cost against workforce size or compare the value of its counselling allowance without a proposal. Employees access it through their organisation rather than buying an individual subscription. Registration requires an organisation code supplied by the employer, which rules it out as a standalone wellbeing app for people whose workplace does not provide access.

Platforms

The service supports Android, iOS and web. The Champion Health app is available on Apple and Android devices, with a desktop portal also offered. The EAP adds telephone, video, face-to-face, live chat, email, online and callback routes, giving employees options beyond mobile access.

Who it's for

PAM Wellness serves public, private and charity organisations of all sizes in the UK and overseas. It is particularly relevant to employers seeking wellbeing content alongside confidential EAP support, practical guidance and counselling. Its integration with PAM occupational health services may also suit employers already using PAM for return-to-work support or onsite screening. Employees looking for an independently available app, or organisations that need a published price before engaging, should look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pros

Broad support in one employer-provided service: wellbeing programmes sit alongside counselling, crisis support and practical legal, financial and family-care help.
Multiple ways to reach the EAP: round-the-clock helpline access, digital channels, callbacks and more than 200 languages accommodate different needs and circumstances.
Defined counselling allowance: the popular service level includes up to six telephone or video sessions per employee, with enhanced CBT options.
Confidential individual use: PAM says employers receive aggregated workforce data rather than individual EAP usage.

Cons

Employer access is essential: a code from the organisation is required, so individuals cannot simply sign up.
Cost cannot be compared upfront: pricing is custom and requires a quote.
Counselling is capped: the popular level offers up to six sessions, which may not suit people needing longer-term support.

Alternatives

Employee Assistance Program Software is the broader category for comparing EAP options. Consider Optum Global EAP if you want another paid EAP with Android, iOS and web access; its Global Employee Assistance Program uses custom pricing. SupportLinc is another employer-provided paid EAP, with Android, iOS and web apps; employees and immediate family members have no direct cost, though programme terms can vary.

ESI Employee Assistance Group offers quote-based options including a plan tailored for public safety employees. TELUS Health EAP is another paid, organisation-tailored service with Android, iOS and web access. Acentra Health Employee Assistance Program may be worth comparing if a freemium EAP with web access is a priority.

HealthHero EAP publishes an Essentials price of 4.08 GBP per year, billed at £4.08 per person per year (equivalent to £0.34 per person per month), plus VAT on a one-year term; it is a useful comparison if published per-person pricing matters. MCL Medics EAP instead provides a workforce-scaled quote, with a stated 24-hour turnaround and no obligation. Spectrum.Life EAP+ publishes a Mental Health Essentials plan at 3.00 GBP per year, billed annually, with Foundation EAP, an AI companion, a structured intervention pathway and a workplace portal; compare it if those elements and a published price are a priority.

Verdict

PAM Wellbeing is a strong choice for employers that want broad wellbeing resources joined to confidential, multi-channel EAP support, especially where counselling, practical assistance and links with occupational health matter. The organisation-code gate and custom pricing are the main reasons to look elsewhere: individuals cannot buy access directly, and buyers must obtain a quote before judging cost.
