In their own words
Early Alert
Early Alert is a web-based service from Circles of Support, Inc. that sends text wellness check-ins and connects people showing possible distress with organizational support. Participants register through their organization’s web portal; it is not an app. Check-ins usually ask one question rated from 0 to 10, with frequency adjustable from the weekly default. Organizations choose wellness domains, including mental, physical, relational, spiritual, and financial health, and provide relevant resources. When responses indicate a challenge, Early Alert can present institutional resources, self-help micro-interventions, or live crisis counseling. A real-time dashboard aggregates de-identified responses to show patterns and clusters of distress, with customizable demographic data. Setup is estimated at about 30 minutes, and ongoing operation is described as requiring no administrative time. The paid service uses pricing on request and supports SMS outreach, surveys, risk alerts, automated campaigns, and engagement analytics. It is not an emergency response system or continuously monitored service.
Suitable
Suitable is mobile-first student engagement and success software for universities and colleges. It brings experiential and co-curricular opportunities into a mobile app, tracks participation, and records verified involvement in co-curricular transcripts. A searchable opportunity catalog supports tiered administrative permissions, while Guided Pathways personalizes the learning journey as students take part. Tools cover student organizations, events, service hours, push notifications, surveys, automated campaigns, and risk alerts. Students can earn points, advance levels, receive incentives, and appear on engagement leaderboards. Schools can map experiences to core competencies using an established framework or their own, and use assessment tools to track progress and identify programming gaps. The platform also supports branded digital badges, stackable credentials, and progress dashboards. Reporting includes customizable tags and filters, with custom reporting services for schools with specific needs. Integrations include LMS, SIS, advising systems, university calendars, Handshake, and an open API; LTI integration is available for Blackboard and Canvas. Suitable runs on Android, iOS, and web. Pricing is available by request rather than as a stated subscription price.
