Overview

EaseUS Todo PCTrans is a Windows utility for moving applications, files, and user information to another PC or disk. It is best suited to people replacing a computer who want to carry programs and settings as well as personal files. Its range of migration routes is useful, but the free edition’s small transfer caps make it a limited fit for a full-scale move.

PC-to-PC transfer, Backup & Restore, and App Migration give users different ways to move content. Pro also covers account migration and recovery from an unbootable computer’s old drive, which broadens its role beyond routine file transfer.

Key features

PC-to-PC and selective transfer: Transfer content between Windows PCs and choose what to move. Selective transfer is helpful when a new computer needs only part of the old one’s contents.
Backup & Restore: Save backup files to a computer, USB external drive, network drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive. Those destinations give users options to keep a migration copy where it suits their setup.
App Migration: Move applications to another computer or disk. This is more useful than file-only copying for a PC replacement, though the free edition allows only five programs.
Accounts and settings: Pro can transfer accounts, passwords, profiles, personalization, and settings. That can reduce post-migration setup work, but it is a paid-edition capability.
Unbootable-PC recovery: Pro can retrieve files and programs by transferring data from the old hard drive of a computer that will not boot. This is a relevant option when the old machine cannot be started normally; the Free edition excludes it.

EaseUS says its privacy policy uses encryption and other security measures to protect data during transmission and storage. The purchase page advertises instant live chat and email support within 24 hours, as well as a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Pricing

The free edition is free and supports 2 GB of data and 5 programs, with account transfer included in the plan. It is a sensible way to move a small amount or assess the transfer route, but the data and program caps are restrictive for replacing a working PC. The Free edition also excludes dead-computer recovery and program-key scanning.

For individual users, the paid options each cover one license for 2 computers, but differ in renewal and upgrade terms:

Todo PCTrans Pro Monthly: 49.95 USD per month, auto-renewing and cancel anytime, with 1-month free upgrades. Its short commitment suits a one-off migration, though paying monthly is the priciest route over time.
Todo PCTrans Pro Yearly: 59.95 USD per year, auto-renewing and cancel anytime, with 1-year free upgrades. It costs less than two months of the monthly plan and suits people who want a year of coverage.
Todo PCTrans Pro Lifetime Upgrades: 69.95 USD per once, with lifetime free upgrades. It is the straightforward choice for someone who expects to use the product beyond a single year.

Server and client-service licensing target business use: Todo PCTrans Server costs 299.00 USD per year for 1 license for 2 servers, while Todo PCTrans Technician costs 399.00 USD per year for 1 license for multiple PCs or servers and service to multiple clients. Technician is the relevant fit for providers working across client environments; Server is narrower. The purchase page offers a 30-day money-back guarantee across products.

Platforms

Todo PCTrans is for Windows PCs, and the Pro page says it works with Windows 11. It is not a cross-platform migration choice.

Who it's for

Choose Todo PCTrans if you are moving to a Windows PC or disk and need a combination of file, application, and account migration. Pro is the stronger fit when preserving profiles and settings matters or the source PC is unbootable. If the transfer is small, Free may be enough; larger moves will run into its 2 GB and five-program limits.

Pros and cons

Pro: Three migration modes cover direct transfer, backup and restore, and application moves, giving users options for different transitions.
Pro: Backup destinations include local, external, network, Dropbox, and OneDrive storage, rather than a single required destination.
Pro: Pro’s account and settings migration and unbootable-PC recovery address work that a basic file move would leave behind.
Con: The free edition’s 2 GB and five-program caps are too low for many complete PC replacements.
Con: Account migration and dead-computer recovery require a paid edition, so the most consequential migration needs are not met by the free tier.
Con: The monthly plan auto-renews and costs 49.95 USD per month; users who need longer coverage should compare yearly and lifetime terms.

Alternatives

PC Migration Software is the broader category directory for comparing migration tools.

MigrationMerlin is a free Windows 10/11 option under an MIT license, with administrator privileges required on both computers.
ForensiT Transwiz is another free Windows migration option.
FastMove may suit buyers who prefer a one-time license, with paid options for one, three, or five computers.
Endstate offers a free, self-hosted Windows plan described as unlimited machines, which may suit users prioritizing that deployment model.
IObit Uninstaller is a free Windows utility for removing apps and cleaning leftovers, rather than migrating them.
Parallels Desktop is a paid option for running virtual machines across Linux, macOS, and Windows.
IDEAL Remote is a paid remote-management option for multiple platforms.
Tranxition Migration Manager is a paid Windows and API option with plans for MSPs and IT services.

Verdict

Todo PCTrans is a good fit for Windows users who need to move more than files and value the choice of direct transfer, backup, and app migration. Its Pro account migration and dead-drive recovery make it more capable for complex moves, but the free limits are too tight for many replacements and the monthly plan is expensive to keep. Compare yearly or lifetime terms for planned use, and look elsewhere if you need a free tool for a larger migration.
