In their own words
eBoox
eBoox is an ebook reader for Android, iOS and web, supporting formats such as EPUB, FB2, MOBI, DOC, DOCX, TXT, ODT, RTF, HTML, AZW, AZW3, CBR, CBZ, ZIP and RAR. Books synchronize across its Android, iOS and web versions, and offline reading is available. The service is described as free and without ads. Reading options include selected settings and night mode; annotations include bookmarks, three-color highlights, interactive links and notes. Import options differ by platform: Android can load books from phone folders, SD cards, cloud storage and web browsers, while the iOS listing names iCloud, Google Drive, Dropbox and Yandex.Disk, as well as transfer through iTunes, email, a browser or AirDrop. PDF support is listed as beta on iOS. The service says pages load instantly. The official site directs readers to a Telegram group for questions and support. Google Play states that the developer declares no third-party data sharing or data collection, and encryption in transit.
Thorium Reader
Thorium Reader is a free reader and library for ebooks, audiobooks, comics, manga, and documents. It runs on Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and iPadOS, with minimum versions listed by the maker. Supported material includes EPUB 2/3, fixed-layout EPUB, PDF, DAISY, Web Publications, audiobook formats such as MP3 and FLAC, and comics in CBZ, EPUB, or PDF. The app opens DRM-free publications and Readium LCP-protected titles from compatible retailers or libraries. Downloaded items work offline, although LCP files need an online connection at least once. Readers can change text size, themes, spacing, and fonts, and use keyboard navigation with custom shortcuts. Accessibility support includes JAWS, NVDA, Narrator, and VoiceOver; the iOS statement notes VoiceOver limitations for EPUB and PDF reading. Desktop users can browse OPDS catalogs when providers allow it. EDRLab develops Thorium Reader, and support is offered through a Help Desk and Discord.
