EdgeSVG vs WinTopo

EdgeSVG converts raster images into SVG vector graphics using an open-source vectorization engine. Its automatic mode categorizes an image as a logo, icon, illustration, or photo, then selects a tracing approach. Other documented modes include convert, logo, premium, auto, smart, and optimal; smart mode searches iteratively within SSIM and file-size constraints. Output scoring covers similarity, edge alignment, foreground overlap, topology, file size, and path counts. The project offers Rust, Python, Node.js, command-line, and WebAssembly interfaces under a shared response contract. Its WebAssembly engine runs in the browser without a server or uploads, according to the maker. WinTopo is Windows desktop software that converts TIF, JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP files, and scanned images into vector files for CAD, GIS, and CNC applications. One-Touch Vectorisation performs raster-to-vector conversion in a single click. Documented exports include DXF, SHP, PDF, MIF, ARC, DI, WMF, EMF, ASC, and WTX, and batch conversion is available. WinTopo Pro adds image processing, more advanced vectorisation algorithms and options, georeferencing, GeoTIFF coordinate extraction, and manual vector digitising over the raster image. Its trial includes all Pro features, but an unlicensed copy saves only a sample of the vector result. Freeware is unrestricted for small conversion volumes.
