In their own words
Eiger
Eiger is Markforged software for preparing 3D prints and managing printer activity. In its browser-based workflow, users import STL or STEP files, arrange parts into a build, set slicing and fiber routing, and generate an MFP file for a Markforged printer. Selective fiber reinforcement controls support routing reinforcement within a part. Eiger also provides printer and print-activity management in one place. The free cloud platform is for Markforged devices; the maker describes it as suitable for institutions with one to one hundred printers. Cloud use requires an internet connection to upload, create, view, and share part, build, and print-job data. Offline Eiger runs without internet access and does not send user or part data to the cloud. Offline print files must be transferred by USB, or over a local network with LAN Connector installed. The Essential plan includes Job Requests for submitting, tracking, and fulfilling print requests. Blacksmith is an Eiger subscription feature for scanning printed parts and comparing them with design files. The maker says cloud build files are encrypted in transit and at rest, and that Eiger earned ISO 27001 certification.
IceSL
IceSL is a free set of 3D modeling and slicing tools for customizable shape fabrication. IceSL-forge combines modeling and slicing through a Lua language that describes Boolean combinations of triangle meshes, voxels, implicit surfaces and shaders. IceSL-slicer turns models or geometry scripts into G-code, DLP printer images and laser-cutter paths. SliceCrafter provides browser-based slicing, while WebPrinter previews G-code by emulating a 3D printer. Available slicing methods include cubic and tetrahedral infills, bridge supports, adaptive layer thickness, progressive infills, efficient offsetting, protective shields and self-supporting cavities. Polyfoam and Phasor infillers expose local density, orientation, direction and randomness controls. Layer thickness, infill density and printing speed can vary by layer. Documentation covers plugins, printer profiles and pyicesl Python bindings. IceSL requires a GPU with full OpenGL 4.3 support. Its free license is limited to internal research and academic use; commercial and production use are forbidden.
