Overview

Eklavvya is a managed assessment service for institutions and enterprises running remote exams. It is best suited to organizations that need varied question formats, configurable exams, proctoring, and results analysis in one platform. Its appeal is breadth; the trade-offs are SaaS-only delivery and a free plan limited by exam credits.

Exams are delivered in a browser, while proctoring workflows support image capture, video, AI monitoring, and screen sharing across Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS. That combination gives administrators flexibility in how they supervise candidates, but organizations requiring self-hosting should look elsewhere.

Key features

Question design and exam controls

Question banks support image-based, audio-based, objective, and subjective questions. Administrators can set passing marks, arrange questions by topic, apply negative marking, and choose difficulty levels. This is useful for teams managing different assessment formats and scoring rules without treating every exam as a simple quiz.

Proctoring and auditability

Remote proctoring is intended to authenticate and authorize candidates and control online examinations. Image capture, video, AI proctoring, and screen sharing are supported on Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS devices. Audit logs let administrators review activity by both candidates and administrators, adding an operational record alongside exam results.

Results and integrations

Result processing includes rankings, individual and batch question-attempt analysis, and score and group-performance analysis. Eklavvya integrates with ERP, LMS, CRM, and custom applications through options including SSO and REST APIs. Its APIs cover candidate and exam workflows, scheduling, results, face verification, proctoring image analysis, and code grading. These capabilities make the product more relevant to organizations embedding assessment into existing systems than to buyers seeking only a standalone test builder.

The features page states that Eklavvya is CERT-IN certified for software security and ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certified for information security management. Its application is delivered as managed SaaS and cannot be hosted on a customer's own server.

Pricing

Eklavvya uses a freemium model. The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and includes 25 exams and 1 GB storage. Usage is counted in exam credits based on candidate exam instances, so the allowance is best judged by expected candidate sittings rather than by the number of exam templates. Technical support on Free is by email only, which may not suit teams needing more direct assistance.

Standard has custom pricing and includes 500 exams and 5 GB storage. Professional also has custom pricing, with 500 exams and 10 GB storage. Enterprise has custom pricing and 20 GB storage; it lists an account manager for technical support. Standard and Professional share the same stated exam allowance, so the extra storage in Professional is the clearest distinction between them.

Platforms

Eklavvya is available on Android, iOS, macOS, web, and Windows, and offers API access. Exams are browser-delivered; supported Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS devices can be used for image-capture, video, AI-proctoring, and screen-sharing workflows. There is no customer-server hosting option.

Who it's for

Eklavvya is a strong fit for institutions and enterprises that conduct remote assessments and need a combination of varied question types, exam configuration, proctoring, analytics, and integration options. The free tier offers a way to begin with a defined allowance, while larger organizations can consider paid plans with more storage and, at Enterprise level, an account manager. It is a poor fit for buyers who require self-hosting or whose candidate exam volume would quickly exceed 25 free exam credits.

Pros and cons

Pros: Broad question formats and exam controls support assessments with different content and scoring requirements.
Pros: Proctoring options, identity verification, and activity audit logs give remote exam administrators multiple controls and a review trail.
Pros: Results analysis and APIs spanning scheduling, proctoring, and code grading can serve organizations integrating assessments into wider workflows.
Cons: The free plan stops at 25 exams, with candidate exam instances consuming credits, limiting its usefulness for sustained or high-volume delivery.
Cons: Free technical support is email-only, while the account manager is reserved for Enterprise.
Cons: SaaS-only delivery rules out organizations that must run the application on their own servers.

Alternatives

ThinkExam is worth comparing for buyers who want a freemium option with a free trial and a Standard plan priced at 3125.00 USD per month, billed annually, for 100 users and unlimited quizzes; its listed plan also includes two admin panels, a candidate panel, and email/ticket support.

Synap is a paid alternative with a free trial and a Standard plan at 1200.00 GBP per year, including the platform and the first 500 credits for unproctored exams. It is a clearer fit for buyers budgeting around a stated annual price and unproctored usage.

ClassMarker offers a free plan and trial; its Professional 2 plan has custom pricing and includes up to 1,000 credits per month, AI exam proctoring, and custom certificates.

IntelliEXAMS is a paid option with a self-hosted platform and graduated annual per-student pricing, making it relevant to buyers prioritizing self-hosting.

SpeedExam offers a free plan with 25 exam attempts per month, 2,000 questions, and 100 MB storage, plus a PROFESSIONAL plan priced at 20.00 USD per year. It merits comparison for buyers weighing a monthly attempt allowance against Eklavvya's candidate-instance-based credits.

Wheebox is another paid assessment option to compare.

Digiexam has a free trial and a Digiexam Lockdown plan at 1496.00 USD per year, with 25% off Year One and a regular price of $1,995/yr. It is worth considering for buyers whose priority is its listed lockdown plan and student-based pricing.

Gauge Online is a paid option with a free trial and a Professional plan starting at 750.00 USD per year.

Verdict

Choose Eklavvya if your institution or enterprise needs remote assessments that combine configurable exams, multiple proctoring modes, analytics, and integration options in a managed service. The free plan makes a limited start possible, but its 25-exam cap and email-only technical support narrow its role. Look elsewhere if self-hosting is essential or if your assessment volume calls for a different allowance or support arrangement.
