Overview

Sendiee Teambox is a shared inbox for teams handling customer conversations across messaging and social channels. It is best suited to support and sales teams that need to route work among agents and keep customer threads together. Its routing and AI tools are compelling, but plan limits on channels, conversations and team size warrant close comparison.

Messages from a customer across supported channels can appear in one thread, giving agents a joined-up conversation view. Condition-based routing, manual assignment and AI handover support different ways to triage work. Teams that need only one channel or a small number of users may find the free plan sufficient; businesses with broader workloads will need to weigh its paid-plan caps.

Key features

Routing and team controls

Teambox combines rule-based routing with manual assignment, so teams can automate routine distribution while retaining direct control when needed. AI handover sends a human request to a team, assigns an agent in rotation and supplies a summary. That can help preserve context during escalation, though the value depends on whether the team's workflow fits this routing model.

Admin, Manager, Team Lead and Agent roles, plus role-based conversation visibility and team management, give larger groups a way to separate responsibilities. Advanced filters, custom statuses and assignment history help organize and trace work. Team and agent insights cover volume, response time and resolution, useful operational measures for managers rather than a substitute for a team's own service targets.

AI, channels and apps

Per-chat AI controls and live manager instructions give teams some control over AI assistance. Translation, summaries and quick replies can support multilingual or high-volume work, but teams should consider whether their workflow benefits from these aids before paying for a higher-capacity plan.

The shared inbox spans WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger and LINE, with customer messages across supported channels appearing in one thread. The app offering covers web, macOS, Windows, iPhone, iPad and Android; apps are free downloads and include push notifications and mobile biometric locks. Sendiee states that it encrypts data at rest with AES-256 and in transit with TLS 1.2+, and offers a SOC 2 Type II report under NDA; its policy says Type I was attested in 2025.

Pricing

Teambox is freemium, with a 14-day trial and paid plans billed annually. The free plan is free and includes one channel, one AI assistant, 1,000 contacts, 1,000 conversations per month and one team member. It is a useful way for a solo operator to start, but the single-member and single-channel caps make it unsuitable for a staffed, multi-channel inbox.

Creator Lite costs 22.00 USD per year, billed annually, and offers Instagram and Messenger, no WhatsApp, 30,000 contacts, two users and a shared team inbox. It suits a small social team that does not need WhatsApp, but its two-user cap is restrictive for broader coverage. Creator Plus costs 29.00 USD per year, billed annually, with Instagram and Messenger, no WhatsApp, 80,000 contacts, five users, 10 agents, three teams and a shared inbox. It expands capacity for social teams while still excluding WhatsApp.

Growth costs 30.00 USD per year, billed annually, and includes one channel, 5,000 contacts, 10,000 conversations per month and five team members. It is a modest step up from free for a small team, but the one-channel and conversation limits remain meaningful. Pro costs 52.00 USD per year, billed annually, and raises capacity to two channels, 30,000 contacts, 1 Lakh conversations per month, 10 users, five agents and a shared inbox. It adds priority support and lists Shopify, Zoho and Meta Pixel (CAPI) integrations; its 10-member, five-agent and one-team limits can constrain organizations needing several operating groups.

Business costs 67.00 USD per year, billed annually, and includes three channels, 80,000 contacts, 10 Lakh conversations per month, 20 users, 10 agents, three teams and a shared inbox. It also includes priority support, an account manager and the Shopify, Zoho and Meta Pixel (CAPI) integrations. This is the more suitable listed option for a growing multi-team operation, though it still caps channels and team size. Enterprise has custom pricing, with custom channels, tools, contact limits, campaigns, conversations, integrations and SLA; it is for organizations whose requirements exceed the fixed tiers.

Priority support is included with Pro, Business, Creator Plus and Enterprise, while an account manager is included with Business and Enterprise. Shared inbox access is included with Pro, Business, Creator Lite, Creator Plus and Enterprise; the feature matrix also describes Growth as a shared-inbox plan. Compare the channel, conversation and staffing allowances against actual workload, not just the annual price.

Platforms

Teambox runs on Android, iOS, macOS, web and Windows. Its iPhone and iPad apps add push notifications and biometric locks, which can suit staff who need mobile access while keeping the app protected on-device.

Who it's for

Teambox makes the most sense for support or sales teams that receive customer messages across several social and messaging channels and need shared routing, role-based access and operational visibility. Smaller social teams can consider Creator Lite or Creator Plus if they do not require WhatsApp. Teams that need WhatsApp, larger conversation volumes or multiple teams should compare Pro and Business caps carefully. A solo user or a team with only one channel can start on Free, but its single-user limit sharply narrows its use as a shared inbox.

Pros and cons

Pros: Cross-channel threads bring a customer's supported-channel messages together, reducing the need to follow separate conversation histories.
Pros: Condition-based routing, manual assignment and AI handover accommodate both automated triage and human control.
Pros: Roles, assignment history, custom statuses and team insights provide concrete controls for organizing and monitoring shared work.
Pros: Desktop, web and mobile apps include push notifications and mobile biometric locks.
Cons: The free tier is capped at one team member, one channel and 1,000 conversations per month, so it is not a practical multi-agent trial environment.
Cons: Creator plans exclude WhatsApp, while Growth permits only one channel; teams needing broader channel coverage must look to higher tiers.
Cons: Pro and Business impose explicit user, agent and team caps, which may force a plan change as teams expand.

Alternatives

Choose Soclo if its social publishing-oriented free plan, with manual publishing and connected accounts, better matches your needs than a shared support inbox. Mixdesk is another freemium option; its free plan caps use at 10 conversations, 10 connected channel accounts and 100 translation characters, with no AI messages, so it may suit a very limited trial rather than a larger Teambox-style workload.

Desku AI Chatbot Builder offers a free plan with two agents and one inbox, and a Growth plan with six agents; consider it if those stated agent and inbox allowances fit better. Upcellia has a free plan with one channel, one user, one mailbox, 100 conversations per month and 100 contacts, making it an option for a smaller capped workload.

Chattrik Omni Channel is a paid alternative with a Starter plan at 14.99 USD per month, billed per seat, including an AI chatbot and omnichannel support. Pancake is another alternative, with plan prices not listed.

Respond.io may fit teams looking for a paid alternative whose Starter plan is 79.00 USD per month, billed yearly, and includes five users, unlimited monthly active contacts and 5,000 AI credits. AmmarAI Smart Inbox is a freemium web-based alternative with a Starter plan at 9.99 USD per month.

Verdict

Choose Sendiee Teambox if your support or sales team needs shared cross-channel threads, structured routing and AI-assisted handovers in one inbox. Its strongest case is the combination of team controls and channel-spanning conversations. Look elsewhere if the free tier's single-member cap, the Creator plans' lack of WhatsApp, or the paid plans' channel and team limits do not match the way your operation needs to grow.
