In their own words

Elden Ring SaveForge

Elden Ring SaveForge is a free Windows desktop application for editing Elden Ring save files. It reads, edits, and writes PC Steam .sl2 and PS4 memory.dat saves, and converts between those formats. Character controls cover level, attributes, runes, NG+ cycle, class, body type, talisman slots, and memory stones. An item database supports search, categories, favorites, item details, and additions to inventory or storage with capacity checks. Save diagnostics scan for inventory problems and provide repair flows for supported issues, including quantity limits and duplicate or index problems. Safe, Expanded Limits, and Chaos profiles manage item limits and risky or cut-content items, with warnings and confirmation gates for dangerous actions. Save writes are backed up automatically, and Chaos Mode requires a separate backup gate. The project describes the application as early and unstable, warning that it can irrecoverably corrupt saves; it advises using copies rather than a main account or primary save. It is GPL-3.0 licensed, is not affiliated with FromSoftware or Bandai Namco, and lists Discord as a contact channel.

OpenPRF

OpenPRF is a web editor for decrypted PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 save files, with particular attention to PRF profile files. It decrypts and re-encrypts the inner PRF layer with TripleDES and lets users edit set, seta, sets, and bind commands. PRF files can be edited; SFO files provide game metadata, images and text have supported previews or editing, and other files are limited to Hex and Info views. The editor can preview images, display raw hex and metadata, and read game details from param.sfo and icon0.png. Users can load folders or multiple files, then download an individual file or export the folder as a ZIP. Editing happens client-side, with files held in browser memory and downloads created locally; the project says editing also works offline. It requires no installation, build step, or account. OpenPRF handles only the inner encryption layer, so users must separately decrypt the outer save container before loading files and re-encrypt it after export. Most games reject PRF editable text regions above roughly 1000 bytes.
