Overview

En Voiture Simone brings theory-code study, instructor-led driving lessons and practical-test support together in a driving school service. It is best suited to learners in France who want to handle preparation and lesson booking through one provider. The key trade-off is that driving hours bundled with its permit packs expire after one year.

Key features

Theory preparation: The free course provides 140 lessons, 2,000 questions and 50 exam-aligned series, with mock exams, themed practice, error review and progress statistics. That gives learners a substantial way to prepare before committing to a permit pack.
Exam booking: Learners can book the theory-code exam in the app. The service also organizes the practical exam and says the instructor accompanies the learner on exam day, linking test support with lesson booking.
Driving lessons: Learners choose a state-certified instructor and can book lessons every day from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. En Voiture Simone says its instructors work across France and lessons can be arranged near home, work or school. Its reported average is 4.91 out of 5 from 394,786 lesson ratings over the previous 12 months.
Additional support: The help center combines searchable articles with a customer-support contact form. Training offers eligible for financing through France’s CPF personal training account may help qualifying learners pay for a pack. The homepage also states that the school is Qualiopi-certified and directs customers to car-insurance offers from partner Ornikar Assurances.

Pricing

The free Code de la route plan costs 0.00 EUR per free. It includes unlimited online theory-code training without ads, 140 course sheets, 2,000 questions, 50 exam-aligned series and personalized practice modes. It is the natural starting point for learners who need theory preparation but are not ready to buy driving hours.

The four permit packs all include exam registration and support, unlimited driving e-learning, and a set number of driving hours valid for one year. Pay in 3 interest-free installments is available for each:

Pack Permis sans code — boîte automatique: 549.00 EUR per once, with 12 driving hours. It is for learners who already have the theory code and want automatic-licence training.
Pack Permis — boîte automatique: 559.00 EUR per once, with 12 driving hours, complete licence training, a premium theory-code course and printed code booklet. The 10 EUR difference buys added theory materials for learners who do not yet have the code.
Pack Permis sans code — boîte manuelle: 679.00 EUR per once, with 17 driving hours. This suits learners who already have the code and want manual-licence training.
Pack Permis — boîte manuelle: 689.00 EUR per once, with 17 driving hours, complete licence training, a premium theory-code course and printed code booklet. It adds theory preparation for learners who still need it.

The lower-priced packs omit the premium theory course and printed booklet, so they make most sense if the learner has already passed the code. The one-year expiry on included hours matters for anyone whose schedule or progress may be interrupted; the packs are less suitable if lessons may need to stretch beyond that period.

Platforms

En Voiture Simone is available on Android, iOS and the web, giving learners app access alongside browser-based use.

Who it's for

This is a strong fit for French driving-test candidates who want free theory preparation, a choice of state-certified instructor and bundled support through the practical exam. The range of lesson times can help people fitting instruction around work or study. Learners who need more flexibility than a one-year window for pack hours should weigh that limit before buying.

Pros and cons

Pro: The free theory course has a broad set of study materials and practice modes, so learners can prepare without first paying for a permit pack.
Pro: Theory-exam booking, lesson booking and practical-exam support sit within the same service, reducing the need to arrange each stage separately.
Pro: Lessons are offered seven days a week across a long daily window, and learners can select an instructor.
Con: Driving hours in the permit packs expire after one year, which can penalize learners who need a slower schedule.
Con: The bundled hour allowance is 12 hours for automatic packs and 17 for manual packs; learners needing additional instruction should consider whether a pack alone meets their needs.

Alternatives

Driver Education Software is a useful category starting point for comparing other options. Consider Passdesk instead if you want a paid service with a free trial and a Solo plan at 9.99 GBP per month, billed monthly and stopped when you pass. Stych is another freemium option on Android, iOS and web, with a free code plan offering 5,000 questions and 30 mock exams. Fahrschule.live may suit someone seeking a paid, trial-available option with a one-time Führerschein.live Pro add-on priced at 2.90 EUR per learner.

For a different alternative, see Ornikar. Total Drive is a paid option with a free trial, while simplyADI is a paid, trial-available service at 29.00 GBP per month. Diesel Xtrem Pro offers a professional plan with custom pricing. directio is worth considering if you want web-based freemium software with a free plan for unlimited students, enrollments, instructors and vehicles, plus a 2.5% per-payment fee capped at $15 per student.

Verdict

Choose En Voiture Simone if you are preparing for a French driving test and want theory study, instructor booking and exam support together, with a substantial free starting course. Look elsewhere if the one-year expiry on included driving hours is too restrictive or you need a different kind of driver-education service.
