In their own words
EnGenius Cloud
EnGenius Cloud centrally manages Wi-Fi deployments through a cloud service with web, iOS, and Android access. Its network tools include hierarchy views, multi-tenant design, two-factor authentication, dashboards, live device metrics, and scheduled firmware upgrades. APIs cover configuration, display, statistics, monitoring, and troubleshooting; the maker says they can help MSPs and Eco-Partners connect the service with existing applications and internal systems. Security features listed by the maker include packet inspection, encrypted connections, detection of rogue access points and wireless threats, and dashboard-managed user authentication. Basic cloud network management is available on the free plan. Paid plans are listed from $50/yr, and the pricing note includes a 90-day trial. Each device registered to an organization can receive a complimentary three-month PRO trial; qualified ISPs and MSPs can apply for a separate 60-day trial with a hardware package. PRO licenses are device-specific and sold separately, and cloud RADIUS and other cloud services have user limits. EnGenius Cloud is hosted on Amazon Web Services infrastructure in the United States.
TP-Link Omada SDN
TP-Link Omada SDN centralizes management of enterprise networks built from security gateways, switches and wireless access points. Administrators can configure supported Omada routers and network devices through one platform, with tools for network discovery, configuration management and backups. The hybrid deployment options include a software controller and cloud management. Omada Cloud Essentials provides free cloud management for unlimited devices, including network topology and VLAN management. Omada Cloud supports zero-touch provisioning for remote setup, and its monitoring features include network summaries and warnings about abnormal events.
The Omada app can connect to hardware, software and cloud controllers for local or remote administration. The Open API supports REST GET and POST requests, returns JSON and uses OAuth for authentication and authorization. The software controller is free for centralized management of up to 1,500 devices, with capacity dependent on PC or server hardware. Cloud Essentials is also lifetime free; Cloud Standard lists a device license fee but no price. Controller management applies only to certain TP-Link models, and the controller cannot discover or manage third-party devices.
