Overview

Save My Exams is an exam-revision platform for secondary and pre-university students, with resources spanning GCSE, IGCSE, A Level, IB, AP, AS and O Level. It suits learners who want exam-board-oriented practice and study support together, and teachers who need to assemble tests. Its breadth is useful, but fit depends on whether it covers the learner’s particular subject and qualification.

The mix of exam materials, targeted practice and teacher tools makes it more than a revision-note library. The main trade-off is that the lower-cost tiers pare back tools and downloads, while even the paid options are billed annually at the stated monthly rates.

Key features

The library brings together revision notes, exam questions and answers, past papers, mark schemes, flashcards and downloadable PDFs. Qualified teachers and examiners write the notes, questions and mark schemes, and at least two Curriculum Experts review content before publication. Resources are matched to specific exam-board specifications wherever possible. Since coverage varies by subject and qualification, students should confirm that their course is covered before making Save My Exams their main revision source.

Smart Mark, Revision Note Chat, Exam Question Chat, Guided Study and Guided Practice add AI-assisted study options. Target Tests and strengths-and-weaknesses analysis help learners direct practice towards weaker areas, and a Study Planner can help structure revision. These tools offer more guidance than a static notes collection, though access to the deeper practice and feedback features depends on the plan.

Teachers can use Test Builder to build tests from past-exam and expert-written questions, filtered by topic and difficulty. That gives the service a practical classroom use as well as an individual study role.

Free accounts can download past papers and mark schemes, but model answers cannot be downloaded or edited. That is a meaningful constraint for learners who want to annotate or work with answers offline.

Pricing

The free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and includes selected resources and features, with limited revision materials. It is a sensible way to see whether the coverage fits, but the restricted library makes it a limited choice for students who need sustained access across a course.

Essential costs 8.00 USD per month, billed at $96 per year. It includes Basic Test Builder, revision notes, exam questions, mock exams and Smart Chat. This is the more restrained paid option for students who want core practice and notes without the full test-building and feedback suite.

Premium costs 16.00 USD per month, billed at $192 per year. It includes everything in Essential, plus Full Test Builder, downloads, a strengths-and-weaknesses tracker, answer feedback and guided practice. It is the better fit for learners who will use targeted practice and feedback regularly, or teachers who need the fuller Test Builder. The higher annual commitment is harder to justify for occasional revision.

Premium monthly, Premium three-monthly and Premium annual are also offered with full access to Premium resources at custom pricing. A free trial is available. The annual billing behind Essential and Premium matters: the monthly figure is not the total paid over a year.

Platforms

Save My Exams is available on the web, Android and iOS. Offline access is supported, which pairs well with downloadable PDFs, although free users cannot download model answers.

Who it's for

Save My Exams is a good fit for students whose subject and qualification are covered and who want exam questions alongside notes, flashcards and structured practice. Its teacher-written content and review process may also appeal to learners who value material shaped around exam specifications. Teachers have a separate reason to consider it in Test Builder, particularly when they want to set questions by topic and difficulty.

It is less suitable as a single source for a course that is not well covered, or for students who need editable model answers on the free tier. Learners who only want occasional revision may also find the annual commitment of the paid plans disproportionate.

Pros and cons

Pros: A broad collection of exam-focused materials, including notes, questions, past papers, mark schemes and flashcards, keeps several revision needs together.
Pros: Target Tests, strengths-and-weaknesses analysis and guided practice provide ways to focus effort instead of revising every topic equally.
Pros: Test Builder supports teacher-created tests filtered by topic and difficulty, extending the platform beyond individual study.
Cons: Subject and qualification coverage varies, so it may not support every learner’s course.
Cons: Free accounts cannot download or edit model answers, limiting offline and annotation workflows.
Cons: Essential and Premium are billed annually at their monthly prices, which is a significant commitment for short-term use.

Verdict

Choose Save My Exams if your course is covered and you want exam-oriented materials backed by targeted practice, with teacher test creation as an added benefit. Its strongest case is the breadth of resources and study tools in one platform; its main reason to look elsewhere is uncertain course coverage, compounded by the limits of free access and annual billing on the paid plans.
