| Deployment options | The project can run locally as a standalone proxy or deploy to Kubernetes; the site also links to hosted services offered by other providers. | Repository deployment guides cover Railway, Render, DigitalOcean, AWS, GCP, Fly.io, Coolify, Easypanel, Heroku, Koyeb and Apple Containers. |
| Observability | The CLI supports OpenTelemetry tracing and can record request and response details; the documentation describes configuration to hide input and output content. | Usage views show spending, selected models, token consumption and failed requests for each harness. |
| Security | The project describes upstream authentication for securing connections to AI services and says provider credentials can be kept out of application workloads. | Manifest states that data in transit uses TLS, passwords are hashed, and Gateway provider credentials are encrypted with AES-256-GCM. |
| Support | The project directs users to its community Discord and GitHub issues for help. | Free includes community support through Discord, Pro includes basic platform and billing support, and Enterprise includes dedicated Slack and email support. |

In their own words
Envoy AI Gateway
Envoy AI Gateway, now named Agent Router, is an open-source control plane for managing AI and agent traffic through Envoy. It provides an OpenAI-compatible API for hosted and self-hosted models and MCP servers, with integrations for providers including OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Google Gemini, AWS Bedrock, Mistral, and Anthropic. Traffic controls include model virtualization, provider failover, token quotas, and usage-based rate limiting. Its MCP gateway supports server multiplexing, tool routing, OAuth authentication, and observability; InferencePool support adds routing and load balancing for inference endpoints. Credentials can be managed centrally, and supported short-lived credential flows include AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, and GCP Vertex AI. The project describes metrics collection and monitoring for AI workloads. The free open-source project is listed at free. Its CLI supports local use on Linux and macOS; production Kubernetes deployment uses Envoy Gateway and requires compatible dependencies. The project uses the Apache 2.0 license and points users to Discord and GitHub issues for help.
Manifest
Manifest is an open-source LLM gateway for routing model requests, switching providers, repairing certain failures, and tracking inference spending. It provides one endpoint compatible with OpenAI and Anthropic models and subscriptions. When a provider goes down, fallback routing retries through another provider. Autofix repairs malformed requests and resends them when retries alone cannot resolve the error. Observability shows spending by harness, which models handled requests, and what failed. Manifest connects API keys, paid subscriptions, local models, and custom endpoints, including Ollama, llama.cpp, and LM Studio. The self-hosted gateway runs with Docker, works offline, requires no account, and supports amd64 and arm64. Self-hosted routing and request data remain on customer servers except documented telemetry and Autofix flows. The Cloud Free plan allows 10,000 routed requests per calendar month and cannot reach local models on the user's machine. Free includes unlimited self-hosted use; Pro costs $19 a month with unlimited Cloud requests and 365-day dashboard retention.
