In their own words
EQL Meter
EQL Meter is a free desktop app for EverQuest Legends that reads character log files on the player’s machine and tracks fights in real time. It shows damage per second (DPS) in its main window and a click-through overlay, which lets the game remain playable underneath. The overlay appears above the game only when it is running windowed or borderless. Combat views include combined results across multiple mobs, an ability breakdown, and a DPS chart; the main meter also has DPS, Heals, Raid, and Loot tabs. When the in-game `/who all raid` roster is known, the Raid tab provides group DPS information. The app runs on macOS and Windows, needs no account or cloud backend, and is MIT licensed. It checks GitHub for releases on startup and offers an in-app update check and installation. A guide is available for Mac players running the game in a Parallels virtual machine. The Mac app is not yet notarized by Apple, so first launch may require clearing macOS quarantine in Terminal.
Skada
Skada is a free, modular damage meter for World of Warcraft that lets players inspect combat data across saved fight segments. Its Bar, Inline, and Data Text windows can display different levels of detail, and users can open multiple windows and customize them. The Midnight edition supports WoW 12.0 and later and uses Blizzard’s session-based combat systems; a classic version is available for older releases. Listed game flavors include Retail, Mists of Pandaria Classic, and Classic. The Midnight edition also includes UI presets, animated visual elements, and a theme engine for importing and exporting themes. Data Text works with LDB display addons including Titan Panel, ChocolateBar, and ElvUI. Third-party plugins add displays and metrics such as graphs, tank performance, and friendly-fire damage, and the project API lets developers create more plugins. Skada aims to use memory and CPU efficiently. It is listed under the MIT license and is available at no cost for World of Warcraft.
