| Integrations | Authentication integrations include LDAP, SAML and Google OAuth, with SCIM, CSV and LDAP synchronization options for accounts. | OpenGRC says it has no third-party integrations currently built into the platform, but provides a REST API for integrations. |
| MCP integration | The current product includes an MCP server and AI assistant for interacting with eramba data in natural language. | Enterprise includes an MCP server allowing Claude and ChatGPT to read and update records while respecting user permissions. |
| Rating on G2 | 4.0 out of 5 from 1 review | 0.0 out of 5 from 0 reviews; G2 says there are insufficient reviews for buying insight. |
| REST API | REST APIs can receive CRUD requests and send webhooks from most modules, including objects, comments, attachments and custom fields. | The API uses Laravel Sanctum bearer tokens, supports CRUD across GRC resources, pagination, search, sorting and eager loading, and is limited to 60 requests per minute per user or unauthenticated IP. |
| Risk management | Risk workflows support asset, third-party and business risks, scoring matrices, treatments, owners, reviews and reporting. | Risk tools maintain a register with scoring, treatment tracking and links to related controls and assets. |
| Security controls | The user documentation says locally authenticated accounts have brute-force protection by default, which blocks further login attempts after incorrect credentials. | OpenGRC states annual independent SOC 2 Type II examination and penetration testing, encryption in transit and at rest, instance-specific keys, customizable RBAC, WebAuthn/2FA and activity logging. |
| Self-hosting | Community runs on customer servers, while Enterprise can run on customer infrastructure or as eramba-hosted SaaS. | Community is described as the complete self-hosted edition with no seat limits or data caps. |
| System requirements | The Docker deployment requires a 64-bit host, at least 1 vCPU, 4 GB RAM plus 10 GB swap and 3 GB storage; 2 vCPUs and 8 GB RAM are recommended. | The repository requires PHP 8.4+, MySQL/MariaDB or PostgreSQL, Composer and Node.js 20.19+ or 22.12+, and is built with Laravel 13 and Filament. |
| What it does | Eramba is a governance, risk and compliance application covering compliance, risks, incidents, projects, exceptions, policies and controls. | OpenGRC is a cyber governance, risk and compliance web application for small and midsized security teams. |

In their own words
Eramba
Eramba is governance, risk, and compliance software for organizations managing activities such as risk, compliance, data privacy, incidents, awareness programs, account reviews, and online assessments. It lists more than 70 ready-to-import compliance packages, and teams can upload a custom framework as a CSV file. Common tools include notifications, granular access controls, status tracking, custom fields, reporting, automations, and REST APIs. Eramba can accept API requests and send webhooks to other systems, with examples involving SIEM incident creation and Jira issue creation. Authentication options include LDAP, SAML, and Google OAuth; its documentation also describes LDAP synchronization. Community and Enterprise can be installed on-premises using Docker or VMware, while SaaS is also available. For SaaS, Eramba says it hosts systems in Europe or the USA and manages daily backups and upgrades when releases become available. Community is free; Enterprise On-Premise starts at €2,500 a year, and Enterprise SaaS starts at €5,000 a year. Eramba is not a network scanner; its documentation recommends syncing asset data from a CMDB through the REST API.
OpenGRC
OpenGRC is a web application for cyber governance, risk and compliance aimed at small and midsized businesses and teams. It covers risk management, controls and implementations, audits, vendor management, incident response and project management. Audit workflows handle evidence requests, progress tracking and report generation. Vendor assessments can use a dedicated portal, customizable questionnaires and weighted scoring. Listed frameworks include NIST 800-171, ISO 27001, SOC 2, CMMC and PCI DSS. The platform has no third-party integrations built in, but provides a REST API; the API limit is 60 requests per minute per user, or per IP for unauthenticated requests. Enterprise includes AI risk assessments, automated vendor survey responses and AI gap assessments. The free Community edition is self-hosted and requires a web server and database server. Enterprise Basic costs $4,500 per year, while Enterprise Enhanced costs $7,500 per year. Hosted plans state a 99.5% monthly uptime commitment and say customer data is not used to train AI models.
