In their own words

Erase.bg

Erase.bg uses AI to remove backgrounds from images, with tools to replace backgrounds, add colors or patterns, and resize images by aspect ratio. It accepts PNG, JPEG, JPG, WEBP, and HEIC images up to 10,000 × 10,000 pixels, along with MP4, MOV, and WEBM videos up to 30 seconds. Downloads include PNG and JPG formats. Bulk processing can handle multiple images, and developers can use API examples for React, JavaScript, Python, Node.js, Kotlin, Golang, C#, and PHP. Each background removal uses one credit. The free Starter Plan includes three credits and three downloads for personal use; new API users receive three free credits that reset daily. One-time credit packs are listed at $6, paid once for 10 credits, $12, paid once for 100 credits, and $50, paid once for 1,000 credits. Those packs are non-refundable, with credits valid for one year. Erase.bg is available on the web and Android, with API access. Its privacy policy says images are anonymously stored and information may be processed in other countries.

unbagrnd

unbagrnd removes photo backgrounds with on-device AI, processing images locally in its desktop app with ONNX Runtime. It can handle a single image or a folder, with live before-and-after previews as processing completes. Users can pick from several models to balance speed and accuracy; the default is 43 MB. Brush tools erase or restore subject areas, with undo and redo, and users can add a solid-color background or an on-device drop shadow. The app predicts a foreground mask on the CPU, combines it with the original pixels, and saves the result as PNG. The maker says the only network request is a one-time model download, with no analytics, update checks, or telemetry. unbagrnd is free and open source under the MIT license, with no API keys, paid tiers, or usage limits. A self-hosted, Docker-capable REST API supports single-image and batch processing. Its documented defaults allow 20 MB per image, batches of up to 10, and 60 requests per minute per API key. It supports Android, Linux, macOS, Windows, and self-hosted use.
