In their own words

Evcode

Evcode is a free, open-source Rust terminal IDE for macOS, built around terminal-first, keyboard-driven development and fast experimentation. Its editor provides multiple tabs, syntax highlighting, text selection, undo and redo, clipboard integration, and cursor navigation. Built-in LSP support can provide diagnostics, error highlighting, language awareness, and real-time feedback where an LSP server exists. Teleport is a fuzzy file finder for project navigation, while a file tree shows project structure. An integrated terminal runs commands for compiling, testing, or scripts, including Cargo, Python, Node, build systems, and shell commands. Ghost Snap stores a buffer snapshot in memory and mirrors it to a local path; Ghost Diff shows changes against that snapshot, and Ghost Rollback restores the last one. Evcode is MIT licensed. Installation is documented through Cargo, including `cargo install evcode`; the latest listed release is 1.0.0. The README reports approximately 7–10 MB of idle RAM usage.

GNOME Builder

GNOME Builder is a free integrated development environment for creating applications for GNOME. It integrates GTK+, GLib, and GNOME APIs, with editing features that include syntax highlighting, side-by-side editors, multi-monitor support, and a code overview mini-map. Git integration includes project cloning, and listed build integrations cover Autotools, Cargo, CMake, Gradle, Meson, Maven, Make, PHPize, and Waf. Code assistance includes Clang- and Python-based auto-completion, semantic highlighting, and diagnostics, plus Vala-based auto-completion and diagnostics. Builder offers live previews for HTML, Markdown, reStructuredText, and Sphinx, as well as optional Vim, Emacs, and SublimeText-style editing. Native applications can use its integrated debugger and software profiler. It supports jhbuild and Flatpak runtimes and integrates with arduino-cli. The app page says releases follow the GNOME schedule, every six months, and links to online help, contribution guidance, and an issue tracker. Builder is available for Linux desktops, with x86_64 and aarch64 builds listed.
