Overview

Customers scan a QR code to open the menu in a phone browser and order without an app or account. Sellers can tailor menus with categories, item photos, prices, variations and extras, and create separate menus for different events. That flexibility suits traders whose offering changes from one pitch or occasion to another.

Paid orders appear on a kitchen screen, where staff can update their status and prompt ready notifications. Reporting covers top sellers, revenue over time and busy hours; item-level profit depends on entering cost prices. These tools connect the customer-facing order flow to day-to-day service, though the value of the profit reporting rests on maintaining accurate cost data.

Key features

QR ordering: A browser-based menu removes the need for customers to install an app or create an account, a useful reduction in friction at a busy event.
Event menus: Sellers can keep distinct menus for different events and configure variations and extras, rather than relying on one fixed offering.
Kitchen workflow: Staff can track paid orders and send ready notifications, making the system relevant to teams coordinating service as orders come in.
Analytics and finance: The dashboard reports sales patterns and, with cost prices entered, profit per item. Pro Max adds bookkeeping, receipt extraction, VAT and sales tax, fixed assets, and QuickBooks, Sage and Xero exports; Pro includes CSV, QuickBooks and Sage exports.
Payments and security: SumUp, PayPal and Stripe are supported, and every seller account is protected with email MFA. Apple Pay and Google Pay are described as coming soon via Stripe Connect, so they are not current options.
Offline POS: The Pro plan includes a POS app for offline desktop use, a meaningful advantage where connectivity is unreliable.

Pricing

The free PAYG plans charge a platform fee plus Stripe processing. Basic PAYG is £0/month with a 1.0% platform fee and includes the ordering page, QR code, kitchen board, menu management and email confirmations. It is the leanest way to start, but the platform fee makes it less attractive as sales grow than a no-transaction-fee monthly plan.

Pro PAYG is £0/month with a 2.0% platform fee plus Stripe processing. It adds Pro features but excludes the diary and bookkeeping. Pro Max PAYG is £0/month with a 3.0% platform fee plus Stripe processing and adds bookkeeping, a bookings diary, receipt extraction, VAT and sales tax, fixed assets, and QuickBooks, Sage and Xero exports. These options avoid a monthly commitment, but the higher fee tiers make the trade-off against monthly pricing especially important for regular traders.

Basic Pay Monthly costs £30/mo with no per-transaction fee. Alongside Basic ordering tools, it includes print menus, event pricing, SMS, discount codes and wastage tracking. It suits sellers who want to avoid transaction fees and need those operating tools, but it does not include the Pro plan's inventory, analytics and P&L, staff costs or multi-device POS.

Pro costs £59.96/mo with no per-transaction fee. It adds inventory, analytics and P&L, wastage tracking, event pricing, live wait time, discount codes, staff costs, SMS, exports and multi-device POS. This is the stronger fit for a trading operation that needs stock and business reporting as well as order handling.

Pro Max Pay Monthly costs £75.00/mo with no per-transaction fee. It includes Pro features plus bookkeeping, a bookings diary, receipt extraction, VAT and sales tax, fixed assets, and QuickBooks, Sage and Xero exports. It is the broadest option for sellers who want financial administration alongside service tools; less complex operations can avoid paying for those additions. There is no free trial.

Platforms

Eventifood supports Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, web and Windows. It runs in a browser on Windows PCs, Macs, iPads, Android tablets, Amazon Fire tablets and Raspberry Pi devices. The offline desktop POS is a Pro-plan feature, not a general promise of offline operation across those platforms.

Who it's for

Food trucks, street-food traders, mobile caterers and festival vendors are the natural audience, particularly sellers who want customers to order by QR code and staff to manage paid orders on a kitchen screen. Traders with changing event menus benefit from menu separation; those needing stock, profit reporting or bookkeeping can move up the plans. A seller who only needs a basic ordering page may prefer to begin with Basic PAYG, while businesses with steady volume should compare its platform fee with the monthly alternatives.

Pros and cons

Pro: Customers can order from a phone browser without an app or account, reducing steps at the point of sale.
Pro: Separate event menus, kitchen status updates and ready notifications cover a useful span from menu setup through fulfilment.
Pro: Both free PAYG and monthly plans are offered, with the latter avoiding per-transaction fees.
Con: PAYG adds a platform fee as well as Stripe processing, and the fee rises from 1.0% on Basic to 3.0% on Pro Max.
Con: The lower-priced Basic plan lacks the inventory, analytics and P&L, staff costs and multi-device POS included in Pro.
Con: Profit-per-item reporting requires sellers to enter cost prices, so it depends on keeping that information current.

Alternatives

Event Catering Software is the broader category to explore when comparing event-focused tools.

BanquetsCRM is a better direction for teams prioritising CRM and event administration: its free Core CRM covers events, leads, customers, invoices, venues, menus and team management.
Catertoo suits caterers who want proposals and e-signatures alongside a menu builder; its free plan is capped at three events a month.
CartFlow may fit a small operation looking for a free event and stock workflow, though its free tier caps events, sales records, products, recipes and stock items.
SendOrder is worth considering when food costing, preparation conversion, inventory, recipes, orders and expenses are the core needs.
Traqly is an alternative for proposal-led client work, with a free Essentials tier capped at eight clients and four proposals per month.
Caterease is another paid option.
Caiter is another paid option.
CaterZen is another paid option.

Verdict

Eventifood is a strong match for mobile food sellers who need QR ordering, kitchen coordination and menus that can change by event. Its most compelling choice is between a no-commitment PAYG start and monthly plans that remove per-transaction fees; sellers should weigh that fee structure against their sales volume and the features they actually need. Look elsewhere if the priority is a CRM or proposal workflow rather than a food-van ordering and POS system.
