In their own words
EventX
EventX is an event management and marketing platform for in-person, virtual, and hybrid events. Organizers can manage registration, session booking, ticket types, promo codes, campaign tracking, payments, and check-in. The check-in app scans QR codes and supports kiosks and name search, while customized badges can be printed in under two seconds after check-in. For virtual events, the platform offers live streaming or Zoom integration, on-demand video, booths, networking, polls, Q&A, and surveys. EventX also creates branded event websites and progressive web apps that run in a browser without app-store installation. It lists integrations with Stripe, Zoom, Kahoot!, Slido, and KUDO, and supports Android, iOS, web, and API access. The free plan allows unlimited events, up to 30 attendees per event, and one user. Essentials costs $99 a month and allows 300 attendees per event, with a 5% ticketing platform fee. EventX states that it has ISO 27001 certification and has complied with GDPR since May 25, 2018.
Shindig
Shindig is a platform for hosting online video chat events, combining stage presentations with private attendee conversations. Hosts can run conferences, enterprise marketing and workforce events, fan events, and education programs. Networking groups can include 2 to 12 people, who can move between conversations while still seeing and hearing the stage. Hosts may bring participants onto the stage, open a first-come-first-served podium, or spotlight selected attendees. For multi-session conferences, a central directory connects sessions, panels, suites, and booths; virtual expo booths are supported. Events can simulcast to Facebook Live, YouTube Live, and other social media, with HD recordings available afterward. Browser access uses customizable URLs and requires no download or account creation; attendee apps are available for iOS and Android. The Free plan is free, with a 40-minute event limit and 100 participants per event. Starter is $99 a month, with events up to three hours. Introductory is $750 a month; Advanced Plans have no listed price.
