In their own words
FaçadeSignage
FaçadeSignage is Windows projection-mapping and media-server software for placing digital media on physical objects or architectural structures with one or more projectors. It maps flat, curved and irregular shapes using unlimited surfaces and layers. Videos, images and live content can feed those surfaces, including synchronized experiences assembled from sub-regions. Realtime cropping and alpha masks provide multiple media regions. A built-in client-server mode lets one PC’s control panel operate players from another PC. Listed resources include WebCam, DirectShow, Spout, PowerPoint and Epiphan Grabber; MIDI, OSC and HTTP support remote automation. The maker identifies events, shops, showrooms, fairs, museums, theatres, conferences and lobbies as possible uses. The download page offers version 2021.1.4.1 for Windows 64-bit and 32-bit, with stated Windows 7, 8, 8.1 or 10 requirements. Lite handles one projector; Standard adds multi-projector and live input; Professional adds another editing license and advanced controls. A one-time 21-day trial is included.
MapMap
MapMap is projection mapping software for placing video and other media onto surfaces selected by the user. It is aimed at artists and small teams and runs on Linux, macOS, and Windows. Mapping shapes include quads or meshes, triangles, and ellipses. The media library supports video, still images, animated GIFs, color paints or masks, and webcams on Linux. Preferred containers include MOV, AVI, MP4, OGG, and OGV, with listed codecs including Motion-JPEG or Photo-JPEG, MPEG4, and Apple Pro Res 422. Layers can be shown or hidden, isolated, locked, duplicated, deleted, and rearranged. Projects use the .mmp extension and XML format. OpenSoundControl can change source files, opacity, visibility, and volume, although it is unsupported on macOS. MapMap is free, open source under GNU GPL v3, and offers GitHub issues, mailing-list, IRC, and email support.
