FaceTec
FaceTec provides 3D face liveness and face matching software for identity verification. Its onboarding flow can capture a video selfie, check liveness, compare a face with an ID photo, detect ID tampering, and look for duplicate enrolled faces. The product also includes Photo ID OCR and barcode or NFC scanning. A free developer account can be used to try age estimation, liveness, face matching, OCR, and scanning. FaceTec lists support for iOS 12 and later, Android 5 and later, webcams, mobile browsers, progressive web apps, and PCs with webcams. Developers can use device SDKs for iOS, Android, and browsers, or a server-side software/API configuration. FaceTec says its server software runs in the customer’s private cloud inside its firewall and that end-user biometric data and personally identifiable information are not sent to FaceTec. Commercial pricing is by quote, with a minimum monthly commitment and billing per 3D Liveness check or per user. Unlimited Photo ID scans for KYC/AML are included at no charge.
Shufti
Shufti provides digital identity verification and fraud prevention for compliance workflows. Its configurable API combines document forensics, biometric liveness checks, NFC chip verification and real-time AML screening. Document verification covers more than 240 regions and 150 languages, with decisions returned within 15 seconds. Facial checks use iBeta Level 3 certified liveness detection to identify deepfake selfies, printed photos and injection attacks. The REST API supports identity, business and transaction verification or monitoring in web and mobile applications. Integration options include REST APIs, webhooks and native SDKs for iOS, Android and web. Journey Builder lets users assemble verification journeys by selecting and arranging services; an AWS Marketplace integration is also documented. Shufti lists PCI DSS, SOC 2 Type II, GDPR-related certifications and Cyber Essentials among its audits and certifications, and advertises 24/7/365 support. The Free Forever plan includes 10 monthly live-production verifications without a card. Essentials is $1.50, paid once, billed per verification, with pay-as-you-go terms and no minimum monthly commitment.
