In their own words

Fami

Fami combines shared family scheduling with chores, budgeting, meal planning, shopping lists, and saved places. Its calendar offers day, week, month, and agenda views, color-codes events by family member, and supports recurring events. Families can import an existing Google Calendar and export events to a device calendar. Chores can be assigned by person, day, or rotation; completed chores can earn rewards, and the site says allowance is credited automatically. The AI meal planner suggests meals based on household needs and can add planned meals to the shared shopping list. Kid Mode shows children their chores, rewards, and allowance balance without the household budget or family calendar. Fami is available on Android, iOS, and the web. The free plan includes a shared calendar, chores, shopping list, budget, and family places. Premium costs $4.99 a month or $44.99 a year; both paid plans add AI meal suggestions and advanced task tools, and the annual plan includes a 7-day free trial. Fami says it does not sell personal data, and users can request data deletion through the app.

KIN

KIN is a shared family calendar for keeping household schedules together on Android and iOS. Family members can create or edit plans by holding to talk for voice input or by typing natural-language requests. The shared timeline combines events, reminders, to-dos, recurring plans, and assignments. People can filter the timeline by family member and apply privacy controls to individual events. KIN does not currently import or synchronize Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook, or other external calendars. Its privacy policy says voice and typed requests are sent to Cartesia for speech-to-text and Google Gemini for interpretation after in-app permission, with Groq and OpenAI listed as backup speech-to-text providers. KIN says it stores data with Supabase, uses reasonable security measures, and does not sell, trade, or rent personal data. It warns that speech recognition and AI interpretation can make mistakes, so users should check dates, times, recurrence, assignments, and reminders. The Free plan is listed at free, while future paid subscriptions or features may be introduced.
